Will There Be A Dark Matter Season 2? Everything We Know So Far About The Sequel

As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for captivating storytelling and a soft spot for sci-fi masterpieces, I am thrilled to hear that Dark Matter is returning for a second season on Apple TV+. Having dived deep into the realms of parallel universes through various books and shows, I can confidently say that this renewal is a beacon of hope in an otherwise monotonous world.

Apple TV+ has chosen to extend one of its well-liked sci-fi series, Dark Matter, by ordering a second season. The program, featuring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, received approval for another season mere two months after the conclusion of its initial nine-episode run in June.

In this account, I’m sharing my thoughts on “Dark Matter,” a gripping tale penned by Blake Crouch himself, who also serves as the series’ mastermind. It follows the life of Jason Dessen, portrayed by Edgerton, a dedicated physicist and family man, who finds himself mysteriously transported into an alternative reality while strolling through Chicago’s streets one evening.

Caught up in a bizarre predicament, I’m desperate to find my way back to the reality I once knew, all while navigating obstacles thrown at me by those who seem hell-bent on keeping me trapped. The extraordinary cast features Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley, each adding their unique charm to this intriguing tale.

Blake Crouch conveyed his enthusiasm about the renewal, expressing gratitude towards fans and everyone involved in creating the show. In a statement released by The Hollywood Reporter, he acknowledged, “A big thank you goes out to all who watched season one – book enthusiasts and new viewers alike, our collaborators at Apple and Sony, my incredible producing partner Matt Tolmach, our outstanding cast and crew, and the wonderful city of Chicago – we truly appreciated your support.”

In the course of composing and recording season one, we found there’s significantly more narrative to unfold, and we’ve merely touched upon the depths of these characters as they struggle for existence and navigate their path home amid a terrain of thought-provoking realities. Until next time in the Box!

Matt Tolmach, the executive producer, expressed his pride in realizing Crouch’s vision and found it incredibly rewarding to see the story strike a chord with viewers. Eagerly, both Crouch and Tolmach look forward to broadening the Dark Matter universe even further in season two, promising more unexpected turns and a deeper dive into the complexities of the multiverse.

Dark Matter is one of the expanding array of science fiction and speculative programs on Apple TV+, which also includes titles such as For All Mankind, Severance, Foundation, Silo, and Invasion.

Matt Cherniss, the programming chief at Apple TV+, is thrilled to carry on working alongside Crouch, Sony, and the gifted ensemble headed by Edgerton and Connelly.

Stay tuned for future updates in Dark Matter Season 2.
