Jodie Sweetin Revisits Iconic Motownphilly Dance From Full House In Nostalgic Clip; WATCH

As a dedicated follower and long-time admirer of Jodie Sweetin, I must say that her recent dance recreation of Stephanie Tanner from Full House left me absolutely spellbound! At 42 years old, she’s still got it, and her ability to bring back the magic of those iconic moments from the ’90s is truly commendable.

30 years after the original, Jodie Sweetin excited her followers by reenacting a cherished dance routine from Full House.

At the age of 42, Sweetin joined forces with Mitchell Gerrard Johnson for a nostalgic trip back to one of her most cherished experiences playing Stephanie Tanner on the beloved TV show.

Apart from reviving their iconic dance routine synchronized with Boyz II Men’s hit song “Motownphilly”, they meticulously attempted to recreate every tiny detail. This included replicating Sweetin’s initial wardrobe, such as a black frilled skirt, coordinating crop top, and jacket.

In an Instagram video, a side-by-side comparison is made between a remake and the original performance. Both versions are dancing quite similarly, delighting fans as they watch Sweetin, who continues to shine on dance floors, recreate some of her iconic Full House dance scenes.

The dance that you see originated from an episode titled “Gotta Dance”, which was broadcast as part of the fifth season of the show, on the 5th of November, 1991.

For those unfamiliar, Full House is an iconic American television sitcom produced by Jeff Franklin. It features Bob Saget in the cast and tells the story of Danny Tanner, a widowed father who asks for assistance from his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis and childhood friend Joey Gladstone to take care of his three daughters.

From the heart of the 80s, I followed a captivating series that graced our screens from September 22, 1987, all the way to May 23, 1995, spanning an incredible eight seasons. The tale continued in a new chapter called Fuller House, which made its grand debut on Netflix in 2016.

Back in 2018, Sweetin shared that this particular experience stands out as one of her most cherished memories from being involved with the program. In an interview on Today, she revealed that those friends who supported her were actually dancers at her local studio. Notably, her very own teacher was responsible for creating the choreography for that episode.

It held significant value for Sweetin since she got to hang out with her friends during those seven days of filming. She expressed, “It was truly enjoyable as my dance buddies would visit for a week, and I got to catch up with all of them. Plus, this particular routine was one they were already performing in competitions, and for the week, I joined in and had to quickly learn it.”

Jodie Sweetin continued her connection to Full House long after its first run from 1987 to 1995. Later, she reappeared as Stephanie Tanner in Fuller House, a Netflix revival that aired for five seasons from 2016 to 2020. This allowed Sweetin, along with other original cast members like Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, to bring the Tanner family back to life, using their nostalgic allure to attract new audiences while preserving the original series’ charm.
