‘I Will Be Okay’; Former Dancing With The Stars Host Samantha Harris Reveals Second Breast Cancer Diagnosis

As an ardent admirer of Samantha Harris, I am deeply saddened to hear about her cancer recurrence. Yet, I am also inspired by her courage and resilience. Having faced adversity once before, she has demonstrated an unwavering spirit that is truly commendable. Her dedication to promoting women’s health and well-being, especially in the face of her own struggles, is a testament to her strength and compassion.

Previously known television personality Samantha Harris, who once co-hosted Dancing With The Stars and has been widely recognized on screen, recently disclosed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. On August 14, she took to Instagram to share this health update with her followers, having first been diagnosed with breast cancer back in April 2014.

In my own words, here’s how I might rephrase that statement:

Beyond expressing gratitude, Harris emphasized the crucial role of her loved ones in providing unwavering support. She also hinted at leaning on her audience and well-wishers for additional strength. As her treatment progresses, she promised to keep everyone informed. “I’ll catch up with you all soon,” was her closing remark.

Back in March 2023, I shared my personal journey with PEOPLE after being diagnosed a full decade prior with stage 2 breast cancer. Subsequently, I underwent a double mastectomy, during which medical professionals uncovered that the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. Following this, I chose to have breast reconstruction as part of my recovery process.

Since then, Harris has been using her platform to motivate women to actively manage their health and personal wellness.

Over the last twelve months, there’s been a concerning rise in cancer cases among female actors in Hollywood. Notable figures like Olivia Munn, Jane Fonda, Kathy Bates, and many more have unfortunately become victims of this life-threatening illness.

Beyond this, Samantha’s post about her diagnosis drew an abundance of encouraging remarks, among them was a message from her ex-DWTS partner, Tom Bergeron, who simply expressed, “Sending love.” Additionally, Melissa Peterman and Eva LaRue were part of the supportive chorus.

In her private life, Harris has been wedded to Michael Hess since 2005. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2007, and three years after that, they had their second daughter.
