DeMayo states that he learned about his credits being eliminated from season 2 straightaway following his picture-sharing act. Some spectators suspect that the company could be prejudiced against DeMayo because of his openness about being gay.

It’s quite ironic that this situation unfolds, considering the recent criticism Disney has faced for emphasizing LGBTQ themes and social issues. Given Disney and Marvel’s emphasis on their public image, it’s no shock that the details surrounding DeMayo’s dismissal are now emerging. Unfortunately, these disclosures don’t seem to be beneficial for DeMayo.

After DeMayo’s social media update, The Hollywood Reporter claims that a representative from Marvel released a statement.

In March 2024, due to the results of an internal review that uncovered serious issues, Mr. DeMayo was let go from Marvel. Consequently, we ended our relationship with him instantly, and he is no longer connected in any way with Marvel.

Following DeMayo’s exit from the show, there seems to have been a settlement regarding his tweets that persisted despite earlier cautions. Subsequently, his acknowledgment for season two was taken away. Although particulars about the dismissal and internal investigations have not been made public, it appears that the matter revolved around allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior.
