‘Working On My Sprint’: Glen Powell Says He Is ‘Super Excited’ To Star In Edgar Wright’s The Running Man Remake

As a fervent cinephile who has witnessed the evolution of Hollywood, I can confidently say that Glen Powell is poised to become a true running man, not just on-screen, but also off it. His eagerness and dedication towards mastering his “sprint” for the role in The Running Man remake is truly inspiring.

Glen Powell is really looking forward to embodying the character of “The Running Man” and has been honing his running skills for the part. The upcoming movie, based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, is a modern reimagining of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1987 film. Beyond just the role, Powell, fresh off the success of the hit action-thriller “Twisters,” is thrilled about collaborating with the renowned director!

While promoting his Audible Original podcast The Best Man’s Ghostwriter the Anyone But You actor spoke to Screen Rant about The Running Man remake.  “I have been doing a lot of sprinting. That’s all I can say. I’ve been working on my sprint,” he laughed.

Personally speaking, ever since the days of “Shaun of the Dead”, I’ve been a captivated admirer of Edgar Wright’s filmmaking prowess. His work has been a source of unyielding fascination for me, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with him. Time and again, he manages to craft masterpieces that seem to spring solely from his extraordinary imagination.

Actor from Twister went on and on praising his forthcoming movie, describing it as the director’s cherished endeavor. This movie, based on a novel by Stephen King, already carries its own legendary status. But with Wright’s unique touches, it becomes an all-inclusive masterpiece.

Since his breakout performance in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell has been one of the most sought-after actors, and his latest box office triumph, with Twisters earning $311 million worldwide, has significantly boosted his popularity. In a standalone sequel to the 1996 film, meteorologist Kate Cooper (portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones) is on a mission to track tornadoes in order to test cutting-edge technology that could potentially predict storms.

As a dedicated storm-chaser, I come across Tyler Owens of Powell, whose approach to chasing storms is somewhat casual. Yet, with a looming disaster on the horizon, this seemingly mismatched pair finds ourselves compelled to join forces. The goal? To ensure our own survival and protect the local civilians from impending danger.
