As an ardent fan, I find myself deeply moved by the profound reflections shared by Brad Pitt and George Clooney about their illustrious careers and impending twilight years. Their candid conversations about aging, creativity, and the evolving nature of their craft resonate with me on a personal level.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it like this: In a previous chat, the charismatic Brad Pitt shared his perspective that the twilight of his stellar acting journey might be just around the corner. More recently, he and the equally distinguished George Clooney have delved deeper into this intriguing topic during a heart-to-heart conversation.
As an ardent admirer, I’ve been thrilled to learn that my beloved stars have shared their thoughts about their upcoming projects with GQ. Brad Pitt himself mentioned that his remarks regarding their filmography were akin to seasons. You know, he was referring to the transition from the comfort of the Ozarks and venturing into this new journey which is filled with discovery, excitement, intrigue, pain, agony, and everything in between. It’s truly fascinating!
He mentioned that entering the “big leagues” comes with its own set of responsibilities and questions that need addressing. Along with these challenges, it also brings opportunity and joy, as well as the chance to collaborate with people whom one truly admires.
In a recent reflection, the star of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood voiced his musings about his current outlook on life. He contemplated what the later years ahead might hold and considered George Clooney’s observations that one’s body weakens significantly in the 80s. Pitt further expressed his deep admiration for Frank Gehry, whom he referred to as an exceptionally kind individual.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my awe at Gehry, who, even at 95, churns out breathtaking art and boasts a delightful family. Incredibly, he also revealed that the secret to nurturing creativity lies in embracing life with passion. In an interview with GQ in 2022, Pitt himself admitted that he was stepping into the concluding phase of his career, likening it to being on his “last leg.”
In the most recent chat, I couldn’t help but echo his sentiments when he said they’re both “blessed” with the freedom to map out our future. What makes our line of work unique is that it doesn’t push us towards retirement; instead, it grants us the luxury of continued creativity and storytelling.
While touching upon the fear of phones not ringing one day with their jobs after a certain age, Clooney said that there are two paths for actors to move ahead.
In simpler terms, the main character from Up In The Air stated that once the calls stop coming, if an individual chooses to continue being the same person they were at age 35, they may opt for a more compassionate perspective or approach towards life.
He stated, “But if you’re willing to, say, move down the call sheet a little bit and do interesting character work, then you can kind of… you have to make peace with the idea that you’re going to die!”
The performer mentioned that when he approached individuals, they often commented that he seemed older than expected. He added, “I tell them, ‘I’m 63!’ and they seem surprised. It’s just a part of life.”
Clooney expressed that accepting change can make things alright, but it’s challenging because there are several actors, including Pitt, who struggle to embrace it and cling stubbornly to the past instead.
Both the actors star together in Wolfs which is slated to hit theaters on September 20, 2024.
