What is Tay-Gating? Find Out as Taylor Swift Fans Are Warned Against It at Her Concert in Wembley

As a die-hard Swiftie with over a decade of unwavering devotion to Taylor Alison Swift, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment that Tay-Gating won’t be an option for her upcoming London Eras Tour shows. But hey, the spirit of Swifties is indomitable! We’ve camped out in hillsides, braved storms, and even endured sleepless nights just to catch a glimpse of our beloved queen.

Taylor Swift‘s devoted followers who don’t have tickets for her London Eras Tour performances at Wembley Stadium are being advised to steer clear of assembling there. The custom known as Tay-Gating, where fans without tickets congregate outside the venue to listen to the music, won’t be tolerated during her five concerts from August 15 onwards.

15th August on Thursday, it’s mentioned on Wembley Stadium’s site that only ticket holders and shoppers in the merchandise store should make a visit to avoid causing inconvenience to nearby residents and businesses. To ensure safe movement in and out, no one is permitted to loiter near any entrance or at the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. The venue also clarified that anyone without a ticket will be requested to depart.

Last month, Taylor Swift entertained a crowd of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium over three nights in June. More recently, approximately 50,000 fans set up camp on the hills behind Munich’s Olympiastadion during her Eras Tour. Following her performances in Munich, Swift, aged 34, expressed gratitude to the additional spectators on Instagram. She pointed out that while each night saw 74,000 people in attendance, another 50,000 listened from a park located behind the stadium.

Taylor Swift, winner of the Billboard Music Awards, thanked her fans who virtually attended her Munich shows, stating that the happiness and unforeseen moments touched her during this tour. Following this, Swift resumed her performances in London after her Vienna concerts were called off on August 8-10 due to a suspected terror threat. The authorities apprehended two individuals on August 7 in relation to the planned attack, with a third suspect being arrested the following day.

Prior to Taylor Swift’s concerts in London, Wembley Stadium has declared that attendees will undergo checks before entry and prohibited weapons. The Metropolitan Police have stated that the alleged terror threat in Vienna won’t affect the London shows, emphasizing that there is no evidence suggesting any impact. They also mentioned that numerous high-profile events take place safely at London venues every year. Taylor Swift will be joined by Paramore, Griff, and Suki Waterhouse during her performances, which stretch until August 20th.
