The anticipation had built up for over two decades, and it would have been easy to fall back on a cheesy one-liner or a self-referential gag about the costume’s conspicuous absence. But instead, the filmmakers chose to delve deeper into the character of Wolverine, giving us a rich, emotional exploration of his motivations for wearing the suit.

As a die-hard fan, I wouldn’t have batted an eye, nor would I have minded, if Deadpool and Wolverine had turned Hugh Jackman’s comics-accurate yellow suit into a hilarious jab.
