Isabelle Fuhrman Turns 29 – See How the ‘Orphan’ Star Transformed Over the Years

Isabelle Fuhrman, now 29, has blossomed from a child actor into a captivating young actress in Hollywood. Her career started unexpectedly at age seven when a casting director from Cartoon Network spotted her while she was with her sister, Madeline, and offered her a part on the show Cartoon Fridays.

She soon began appearing in commercials for major brands like Pizza Hut and K-Mart. She also had a minor role as Grace O’Neil in the pilot episode of the 2006 TV series Justice. Even early in her career, she demonstrated a natural ability and comfort while performing on camera.

Isabelle Fuhrman had her big break in 2008 when she landed the role of Esther in the horror movie Orphan, starring alongside Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard. Finding the perfect young actress for the part took a lot of searching, but Fuhrman ultimately won the role. Orphan was a successful film, and critics especially praised Fuhrman’s performance, establishing her as a promising actor.

Prior to that, she received a Young Artist Award nomination for playing Gretchen Dennis in an episode of Ghost Whisperer, where she acted alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Following her role in Orphan, Isabelle Fuhrman continued to work as both an on-screen and voice actress. In 2012, she played the competitive and skilled Clove in The Hunger Games, making her a key figure in the story. She also lent her voice to the character Victoria, a genetically engineered assassin, in the video game Hitman: Absolution.
