Costume Guide – Beachside Angel Teresse

As a seasoned Brown Dust player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that BA.Teresse is nothing short of a game-changer, especially for those who are serious about their Fiend Hunts and long boss battles. Her ability to deliver a powerful damage output, coupled with her unique synergy with MC.Teresse, sets her apart from other buffers in the game.

Official Patch Notes

Overview

Strong buff to set up low-chain nukes (e.g. Sacred Justia, Loen, DJ Venaka, etc)

Complements MC.Teresse exceptionally, making her an extremely versatile buffer, particularly during Fiend Hunt events.

Long lasting buff with no downtime and no range limitations

Works fine at lower levels (+2 is an acceptable budget stop point)

Doesn’t work for teams with high-chain hits (e.g. Zenith, MB.Celia, PWB.Refi)

Doesn’t work well against fiend hunts that require high chain stacks

You won’t get the full utility out of her unless you also have MC.Teresse

Teresse damage analysis

BA. Teresse appears impressive at first glance, however, upon closer examination, her design is primarily geared towards tracking down fiends, with the exception of areas where elevated chain stacking isn’t necessary.

To get started, it’s beneficial to understand the fundamental principles of buffing dynamics. Buffs that share a common attribute, such as attack boost or critical damage boost, stack with one another, enhancing their effects. Conversely, buffs with distinct attributes, like attack and defense, combine and amplify each other’s impacts. For the maximum damage output, it’s advisable to employ a variety of different buffs as this allows them to strengthen each other’s potency and reach their peak effectiveness.

As someone who has spent years studying and practicing martial arts, I have found that the table below provides valuable insights into effective combat strategies when facing weak-element enemies with a physical attacker. Over the course of my training, I have come across various buffer combos, each with its unique strengths and weaknesses. The information presented in this table is particularly useful for those seeking to improve their fighting abilities and adapt to different situations on the battlefield or in self-defense scenarios. Understanding these combinations can make all the difference between success and failure when facing an opponent with an elemental advantage over you.

Buffers Damage
No buff (base property damage only) 150%
Diana H.Lathel GC.Rafina MC.Teresse 3,656%
Diana H.Lathel GC.Rafina Celia 5,195%
Diana H.Lathel GC.Rafina Zenith 7,311%
*single target only
Diana H.Lathel GC.Rafina BA.Teresse 7,504%
*up to 5 chains only, inc GC.Rafina
Diana H.Lathel GC.Rafina BA.Teresse + MC.Teresse 10,967%
*up to 5 chains only, inc GC.Rafina

It’s evident that the initial combination was less effective due to the fact that it employed two identical types of boost (H.Lathel and MC.Teresse both serve as Attack buffers).

In a single turn, the most powerful combination is using BA.Teresse, as her 200% damage boost surpasses both Zenith’s 100% damage amplification plus 6 chains, and also far exceeds Celia’s 14 chain capability in terms of damage output.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my perspective on BA.Teresse. What truly sets her apart is her synergy with MC.Teresse. Given a bit of patience and two turns, Teresse offers two potent buffs. When these abilities are activated together, they unleash the tremendous damage potential in the game.

What game modes is BA.Teresse good for?

Despite her obvious strengths, BA.Teresse also comes with some pretty obvious weaknesses.

As a devoted fan, I must admit that the chain stack limitation poses some challenges when it comes to utilizing Teresse effectively in battles and team compositions. Additionally, to truly harness the full potential of Teresse’s buff power, it requires careful planning and setup time for the BA.Teresse + MC.Teresse combo.

This means she is best suited to fiend hunts and long boss battles.

Among the potential candidates for Tower of Pride, she stands out as a strong contender. However, it’s uncommon for her to take over the role of AOTU.Diana, especially since AOTU.Diana is equipped with an additional critical rate increase.

In PVP, she is a suitable pick as an alternate costume for Teresse. Base Teresse boasts impressive tank-like stats, making her an affordable initial option. However, BA.Teresse performs better as a secondary costume compared to MC.Teresse. This is because BA.Teresse has a lower cost, a more potent effect, and no positioning constraints. Whether she gains popularity will be influenced by the continued popularity of defensive defender strategies such as RH.Rou in the current meta.

In the Tower of Salvation, BA.Teresse operates best when part of a team with fewer attacks, though this can be rather specific to certain situations. It’s advisable to select her only after you are certain your team has been fine-tuned for low attack frequency.

She is least suited to Last Night, where max chains are necessary.

Conclusion

After a few weeks off, we’re back to summer!

BA.Teresse is a newly introduced character primarily designed for fiend hunting. If you aim to achieve top scores during fiend hunts, it’s essential to consider acquiring BA.Teresse alongside MC.Teresse. At present, she leads as the best option for maximum offensive performance in these battles.

As a fellow enthusiast, if you haven’t yet invested in MC.Teresse and your other buffers aren’t fully maxed, it might not be wise to invest solely in BA.Teresse. Compared to widely-used characters like AOTU.Diana, BA.Teresse could be considered a bit specialized. Keep in mind that we’re dealing with a gacha game here, which means there’s always the possibility of newer, more powerful supporters coming down the line. So, if you can exercise patience, there’s a good chance you’ll find even stronger allies in the future!
