How to find Sanza for Mapping the Living Lands in Avowed

Sanza is always in the same spot, but the game doesn’t let you know where that is.

Early in the game Avowed, you’ll find a side quest called “Mapping the Living Lands.” A man named Sanza, who’s near a cart just outside Paradis, asks for your help. He needs you to find four of his cartographers who went missing while mapping the areas around the Living Lands.

Although it seems straightforward, the game doesn’t show you exactly where to find the missing mapmakers – you have to explore the general area on the map to stumble upon them. And the challenges don’t end there! Even after locating them, you won’t get a clear direction to return to Sanza, and he’s not where he started. So, how do you find Sanza and finish the ‘Mapping the Living Lands’ quests in Avowed?

Like many others, I spent a long time searching for Sanza near where he was last seen. When that didn’t work, I figured he must be somewhere in Paradis, but even there I couldn’t find him. Finally, after almost an hour, I discovered him in a very unexpected place.

To find Sanza in Avowed and finish the “Mapping the Living Lands” quest, go inside the city of Paradis and find the Administration District. Then, head north up the large staircase to reach the Paradis Highlands – a separate area with its own map, distinct from the main city.

As you enter Paradis Highlands, walk straight and keep to the right side of the street. After a short walk, you’ll see a large red building called Sanza’s Emporium on your right – that’s where you want to go. You can also find it marked on your map.

You’ll find Sanza here – he owns and operates the shop and is usually behind the counter. Talk to him, and you can let him know you’ve found one of the cartographers he was looking for, related to the ‘Mapping the Living Lands’ project. He also sells various items.

Throughout Avowed, as you discover new cartographers for the ‘Mapping the Living Lands’ quest in each region, you can return to Sanza’s Emporium to complete the quest and claim your rewards.
