Last week, I visited Los Angeles for my son’s birthday, and we attended three NBA games.
The first was Clippers vs. Nuggets on Thursday at Intuit Dome, which opened about 18 months ago.
Here are our thoughts…

The Intuit Dome App And “Game Day Face” Is A Big Mess
I was really excited about going to the event, but getting in was a huge hassle. They told us to download the Intuit Dome app for “seamless entry,” but it was anything but! It’s actually got a one-star rating on the App Store, and after trying to use it, I totally get why. It was a frustrating experience, to say the least.
The biggest problem was the facial recognition system, nicknamed “Game Day Face.” While it was intended to make entry faster, actually getting into Intuit Dome was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had at a sporting event.
Security Lines Were Slow And Outdated
Getting through security was a real hassle. The line was incredibly long, and they made everyone empty their pockets – everything had to come out, including phones and wallets. They also thoroughly checked every bag, which seemed unnecessary to some.
I couldn’t help but wonder why they weren’t using the more modern security systems that don’t require fans to empty their pockets and bags.
Face Scan Didn’t Work And Turned Into Multiple Lines
Once I passed through security, I joined the “Game Day Face” line, but the system didn’t recognize me – my son had no problem getting through, though. This meant that…
- another line to get my ticket scanned manually
- then another line to actually get inside
Honestly, the whole entry process was a bit much. They had so many staff members guiding us into different queues, it struck me that they could’ve just scanned tickets by hand and gotten everyone inside much quicker. It felt like overcomplicating things for no reason!
The crowded conditions didn’t make things any better, as everyone was forced into a single space. Getting out was just as chaotic, with everyone funneled through the same entrance and exit.

Once Inside, Intuit Dome Is Incredible
The good news: once we got in, everything changed. Intuit Dome is impressive.
The arena has an extra layer around the outside, making the whole space seem larger. It also appears they now have the option to hold events outdoors, separate from the main enclosed area.

Nosebleeds Were Surprisingly Great
We had “nosebleed” seats in section 331, middle rows, and we were blown away by how good they were.
The seats are super comfortable, with lots of padding! They also feature built-in lights that flash when a player scores or during exciting moments in the game. Plus, each seat has its own four-button controller so you can play a game during halftime!
The arena’s steep design puts you incredibly close to the action, making almost every seat a great one.

The Massive 360 JumboTron Is A Game-Changer
What I loved most was the massive, wraparound screen inside the arena. It really felt like you had a giant, high-definition display right in front of you the entire time.
The broadcast used replays from four different viewpoints – it was great to see fouls reviewed so clearly. When players scored, they showed exciting, 3D-style videos, which looked fantastic.

Cheap Tickets And A Great Value
I would absolutely go again. The tickets were surprisingly affordable, particularly when you compare them to Lakers games at Crypto.com Arena – which are great, but much more expensive.
For a fun and affordable NBA experience in Los Angeles, seeing the Clippers play is a great choice.
Great Setup For Wrestling Or MMA Too
I was watching the game and realized this venue would be perfect for wrestling or MMA. The seats are set up so steeply that you have a great view of everything from anywhere in the arena.
Food And Drinks Were Fast And Easy
The food and drinks were good, and the service was quick and convenient. You can pay easily by scanning your card and leaving, without having to wait in line.

Final Thoughts On Intuit Dome
Intuit Dome delivers an incredible in-arena experience, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
Honestly, getting into the game is way too stressful right now. The app and that “Game Day Face” thing they have set up just make it harder than it needs to be. They really need to simplify the entry process – it’s a total pain point as a fan!
