As a self-proclaimed child of the ’80s and a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, I must say that Jude Law’s journey to Skeleton Crew resonates deeply with me. Just like him, I can hardly remember my life before the galaxy far, far away captivated our imaginations. The moment I saw those iconic opening crawls, I too became a galactic adventurer, pretending to be a Jedi or a smuggler, enraptured by this expansive universe.
It wasn’t just luck that landed Jude Law in the Skeleton Crew project; his affection for the franchise was also a significant factor. As he reminisced about his past and the iconic period when Star Wars classics hit theaters, the Sherlock Holmes actor shared some insights about his upcoming Disney+ series, titled Skeleton Crew.
Throughout the course of the series, it’s set in a distant galaxy, but Jude Law has always been captivated by these stories, having been a devoted fan since his youth.
At the latest D23 Expo 2024, the actor shared that this influential franchise, with its grand scale, significantly shaped his life and childhood experiences. Furthermore, he explained that the franchise sparked his decision to join the cast of Skeleton Crew, as it had been a source of inspiration for him.
The law specifies that he was either 10 or 9 years old when the first Star Wars film debuted, noting that he can’t recall much about his life prior to Star Wars. He often pretended to be one of the characters from the movie, and the Gattaca actor further explained that Star Wars and its impact were incredibly influential for children of that age group.
“Then another one came out and sort of just expanded the world even more,” Law added.
Discussing his role as part of the “Skeleton Crew,” Law expressed that the franchise played a significant part in his personal journey, motivating him to become involved in the cosmic universe.
In a recent interview, Jude Law shared an interesting connection to the show “Skeleton Crew”. He revealed that since the main characters in this series are around the same age he was when he first fell in love with Star Wars, he finds it even more relatable.
Additionally, he mentioned that the storyline centers around four new characters who make their debut in this installment of the series. These youngsters bravely embark on an exhilarating journey filled with unexpected challenges and adventures.
When four children stumble upon a puzzling secret in what appears to be a secure home planet, they find themselves navigating through an unfamiliar and risky galaxy.
In this setting, as children embark on their adventure, they encounter both friends and foes along the journey, striving to return back home.
In the Disney+ series, Jude Law portrays Jod Na Nawood, while young actors like Ravi Cabot-Conyers (as Wim), Robert Timothy Smith (Neel), Kyriana Kratter (KB), and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern) will bring their characters to life.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will premiere on December 3 on Disney+.
