Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema just released a new trailer and poster for Mortal Kombat II, offering fans a substantial preview of the movie before it hits theaters on May 8, 2026.
The latest video shows even more of the epic scope, intense action, and wild competition hinted at during New York Comic Con, proving this is a large-scale summer blockbuster made for the IMAX experience.
Watch below.

Johnny Cage Takes Center Stage
The new trailer reveals that this installment of the story will focus heavily on Johnny Cage, portrayed by Karl Urban. The action star is unexpectedly pulled into the dangerous Mortal Kombat tournament and must quickly improve his skills as Earthrealm confronts its greatest challenge to date.
Urban Cage begins as a faded star, but gets pulled into a conflict that ultimately turns him into a real hero.

Shao Kahn Rises
The new installment ramps up the danger with the arrival of Shao Kahn, who poses a serious threat to Earthrealm. The revealed footage highlights intense fighting tournament battles, bigger and more elaborate environments, and familiar characters battling across different worlds.
Scorpion is back, and so is Bi-Han, now as the shadowy Noob Saibot! Kitana and Jade are joining the fight, and the finishing moves are more spectacular than ever before.
