Akira Iwanaga is helming the production of an anime at studio asread, working alongside the same team that handled season 2 in 2022. This anime is adapted from Ryo Shirakome’s light novel series “Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest,” which has been published by Overlap since June 2015 with Takayaki’s artworks. Additionally, there exists a manga version of the story, drawn by RoGa.

As a dedicated fan of Japanese literature who has spent countless hours poring over light novels, I am thrilled to hear that J-Novel Club has licensed the series and Seven Seas Entertainment will be publishing it through their Airship light novel imprint. Having eagerly awaited the third season, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement knowing that we will start with Volume 7. With my extensive background in the genre, I have high expectations for this series, and I am confident that Seven Seas Entertainment will do justice to the original work. I eagerly anticipate diving into the world of this captivating story as soon as it becomes available!

After resolving the conflict in the capital, Hajime plans to travel to the Empire next. Accompanied by Liliana and Kouki, they board their newly constructed airship for the journey. However, upon arrival, they learn that the Haulia have been battling both the empire and demons, and Verbergen has been attacked. This new information gives Hajime a compelling reason to continue towards Hoelscher’s capital.

Initially, Ryo Shirakome shared the series on a site where users can post their own stories (Shōsetsuka ni Narō). The initial main tale spanned eight books from November 7, 2013, to October 31, 2015. Since then, it’s been continued with three additional tales and an extra story.

As a long-time fan of light novels and anime, I was thrilled when I heard that “The Series” had been picked up for publication by Overlap and would be released as a light novel with illustrations by Takayaki. Having followed the progress of this series since its inception, I eagerly awaited the first volume’s release in June 2015.

The narrative focuses on Hajime Nagumo, a high school student often tormented by peers due to his unusual bond with the popular Kaori. After they’re magically transported to a mystical realm, each classmate acquires potent magical powers, except for Hajime who receives only fundamental alchemical magic for transforming solid items – a skill typically associated with artisans and blacksmiths.

In a raid on a subterranean lair, one of his comrades turns against him, throwing him down to the dungeon’s lowest depths. Miraculously, he lives through the plummet and forges tools to break free from the dungeon and grow in power. Along the way, he encounters a captive vampire named Yue, then is accompanied by Shea, a rabbit-eared companion, Tio, a lewd dragon, and more travelers.
