I’m so excited about The Magic of Disney Animation! From the start, with its beautiful Mickey Sorcerer Hat and connection to ‘Once Upon a Story,’ it was clear this building would echo the look of the one in Burbank. But now, Walt Disney World has revealed the main attraction: Learn to Draw with Olaf! They’ve created a brand new, incredibly realistic Olaf Audio-Animatronics figure, and he’s going to be amazing. He’ll be there as a friendly, upbeat guide, helping guests learn to draw Disney characters with all his usual charm and humor. I can’t wait to learn from him!
Josh Gad recorded new lines for the attraction, where Olaf will get assistance from renowned Disney animators. These animators will guide guests of all ages with pre-recorded, easy-to-follow instructions, teaching them how to draw and sharing animation tips, techniques, and stories from inside the studio.
I’m so excited about ‘Learn to Draw with Olaf’! It’s not just one class – they’re planning lots of them, and each one will be taught by a different Disney character! We’ll get to learn how to draw all our favorites. Here’s a peek at what they’re offering:

- Minnie Mouse with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog)
- Donald Duck with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2)

- Moana with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2 )
- Stitch with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon)
- Olaf with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3)
- Ursula with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto)
- Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde with Byron Howard, director (Zootopia, Zootopia 2)
Guests can also experience ‘Off the Page!’, an exhibit that takes them behind the scenes of Disney animation. It recreates different departments from the animation studio, showcasing how characters are created. Each area highlights a specific step in the animation process and offers opportunities to meet characters and learn about the artistry involved.
Guests will also explore the Enchanted Art Gallery, a beautifully decorated space showcasing Disney characters and a touch of magic. The experience will conclude with a viewing of the short film that celebrates the park’s history at the Once Upon a Studio Theater.
After practicing, you might even be able to create your own animated movie! But even if you’re not a master artist yet, you’re sure to have fun learning – especially with a teacher as cheerful as Olaf!
