Sofia Vergara, 53, Puts Her Curves on Full Display in Bold Grey Plaid Strapless Look

Despite a major snowstorm and travel delays in the Northeast, Sofia Vergara made a stylish appearance in New York City on February 24th for a press event. She wore a chic grey plaid outfit – a strapless top and matching trousers – and even shared a photo on social media saying, “The snow didn’t stop us!! Press day in NYC❄️❄️”

During an appearance on the Today show, Sofia Vergara playfully responded to a question about whether she’d brought warm clothes from Miami. The hosts asked because of the cold weather, and Vergara, with a laugh and gesturing to her exposed shoulders, admitted she hadn’t! Her outfit quickly became a talking point online, but she emphasized she was in town for something more important.

She recently appeared with Octavia Spencer to talk about American Heart Month. This is a cause that’s especially important to her because she helps care for her mother, who has high blood pressure. She shared that she makes sure her mother gets tested annually, explaining, “I had a really important message I didn’t want to miss. My mother has been struggling, and I make her get the test every year.” She used the opportunity to encourage everyone to get regular health screenings and learn about the risks of heart disease.

Sofía Vergara is having a lot of success with her acting. She was recently nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the Netflix series Griselda, where she portrayed the notorious drug lord known as the “Godmother of Cocaine.” This role was a significant departure from her popular comedic work on Modern Family. Vergara explained that she deliberately wanted to completely transform herself for the part, saying, “I wanted my real-life persona to disappear.”

She’ll next be seen in the dark comedy film Thumb, directed by Daina Oniunas-Pusić, with Milly Alcock, Awkwafina, and Kate McKinnon. She’s also developing a new ABC comedy series, Raising Mom, which draws on her experiences as a mother to her son, Manolo.

Sofia Vergara is expanding her work beyond acting with several business projects. Her coffee brand, ¡Dios Mío! Coffee, recently launched and gets its beans from female farmers in Colombia, who are paid a premium price for their product. In addition to her business ventures, Vergara continues as a judge on America’s Got Talent and recently starred in a Skechers commercial during the Super Bowl.
