Tron: Ares New Update From D23 Expo Unveils Jared Leto’s Key Role And Music From Nine Inch Nails; DEETS

As a child of the ’80s, I vividly remember the groundbreaking impact of Tron and its sequel, Tron: Legacy. The neon world, the motorbike chases, and the pulsating soundtracks by Daft Punk were a mesmerizing escape from reality for many of us. Now, 15 years later, we’re about to dive back into that cyberpunk universe with Tron: Ares, and I couldn’t be more excited!

If you’ve been yearning for the vibrant neon world and thundering motorcycle sounds reminiscent of Tron, then get ready because we may be stepping back into that universe with the cast of Tron: Ares at the D23 Expo 2024. At this event, Jeff Bridges, a star from the original 1982 sci-fi film, was seen alongside members of the upcoming cast.

15 years following the release of “Tron: Legacy,” the movie premiered at a fan event hosted by Disney in Anaheim, California. At this event, Jeff Bridges was spotted with Jared Leto, Greta Lee, and also Evan Peters.

Collectively, they unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming journey in the Tron series to the spectators. The trailer for the third part presents the ongoing discourse about artificial intelligence and major technology industries.

In the trailer and according to Entertainment Weekly, Evan Peters’ character says, “We’ve been searching in all the wrong places for intelligent beings.” However, the actor from Requiem for a Dream is later heard with a foreboding tone, saying, “I’m here to discover something significant. Something enduring.”

The trailer showcased stunning neon effects true to the original style of classic films, while thrilling viewers with intense action sequences and motorcycle pursuits.

Among their various revelations, the most significant disclosure from the Tron: Ares panel was that the music for the upcoming release would be composed by none other than Nine Inch Nails.

Prepare for a dose of the captivating cyberpunk ambiance, as the iconic Nine Inch Nails steps in where Daft Punk once stood, having lent their music to the 2010 blockbuster film, adding yet another layer of legend to it.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that Nine Inch Nails, primarily, was a solo endeavor spearheaded by Trent Reznor. However, presently, Atticus Ross joins him in the creative process. Notably, this musical project has garnered acclaim for its contributions to several films, including David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network, and Mank.

In 2011, they received an Oscar for Best Original Score, which was for a movie starring Jesse Eisenberg. For the film “Mank,” they were nominated twice in 2021, and later on, won the award again, this time for Disney/Pixar’s “Soul.”

In Tron, we find a stellar lineup featuring Leto from X-Men: Apocalypse, Evan Peters, Bridges, along with Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson, and others.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film is set to release on October 10, 2025.
