Hoda Kotb is expressing gratitude as she enters her sixties. The host of Today marked her 60th birthday on August 9 with loved ones by her side. Her special day was made even more so when her home was adorned by her daughters, Haley (age 7) and Hope (age 4). Kotb has been sharing moments from the celebration on Instagram this week.
On her birthday, Kotb’s joy was captured in a series of pictures as she enthusiastically opened gifts, snapped photos with her loved ones, and savored her morning. Her mother, Sameha Kotb, was part of the celebration as well.
On the initial slide, Haley sporting a pink gown and Hope in a vibrant purple dress, waited nearby from where Kotb was seated, anxiously anticipating her response to their thoughtful gifts. A rainbow of balloons dangled overhead, and a table laden with presents and edibles could be seen behind Kotb.
“Happy Birthday! What great luck I have to receive so much love,” Kotb wrote as the caption, expressing her gratitude. In the ensuing pictures, Hope can be seen holding a bunch of balloons while standing alongside her grandmother and older sister.
At the end, Kotb ended the carousel with a heartwarming family photograph. She beamed from ear to ear, snuggling Haley, and Grandma Kotb embraced Hope. Two additional guests completed this cherished snapshot.
Shortly afterwards, Kotb posted another birthday picture with all the attendees, smiling and waving. A large golden balloon reading “60” was included in the festive decorations. Kotb’s caption read, “60 is awesome!”
On Instagram, heartfelt birthday messages and expressions of gratitude poured in from fans, who couldn’t hide their joy for the NBC anchor.
In 2017 and 2019, Hoda Kotb officially became the mother of Haley and Hope. Haley’s name was inspired by Halley’s comet, mirroring the family’s shared initials, while Joy symbolizes the love she brings to the family. A book titled “I’ve Loved You Since Forever” was dedicated to Haley by Kotb. Hope’s name represents Kotb’s longing for another child and the aspirations of many women for motherhood, with her middle name Catherine being a tribute to Kotb’s friend’s daughter.
Hoda Kotb continues to share custody of her children with her former fiancé, Joel Schiffman, following their separation in 2022. The pair remain dedicated to joint parenting. Lately, Kotb was delighted to be back home with her daughters after a work trip to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
