Deadpool & Wolverine Japanese Dub: Anime Stars Cast In Major Roles

Having spent years analyzing the intricacies of film production and character development, it’s clear to me that this movie has struck a chord with audiences worldwide.

Deadpool and Wolverine’s film has generated over $900 million globally and currently ranks second among the highest-earning movies of 2024, trailing only Inside Out 2. The movie premiered on July 26, 2024, and is poised to surpass the $1 Billion mark in earnings. In its debut week alone, it made approximately 807.88 million yen in Japan.

In 2024, the foreign film we’re discussing shattered box office records on its opening day, making it the top-grossing foreign release ever and setting a new high for the franchise’s initial earnings. Interestingly, it also earned the most during its debut week as an R-rated superhero movie. The audience response has been overwhelming, with many fans opting to watch both subtitled and dubbed versions, particularly in Japan, where repeat viewings have become common.

Disney Japan announced that the principal actors will be reprising their roles in the upcoming movie, with Takehito Koyasu voicing Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Rikiya Koyama lending his voice to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Additionally, both Deadpool and Wolverine are supported by a talented ensemble of voice actors.

1. Takehito Koyasu lends his voice to Deadpool in the anime titled Disk Wars: Avengers. On the other hand, Shatterstar, a swordsman from X-Force, is voiced by Yuichi Nakamura. In the movie, the role of Ladypool is played by Blake Lively (wife of Ryan Reynolds), while Romi Paku voices her in the Japanese version. Lastly, Tomokazu Sugita gives voice to Cowboypool, who is a cowboy rendition of Deadpool.

The version of Deadpool with just a decapitated head is played by Natsuki Hanae. Side note, fans may have noticed a Deadpool with the Welsh Flag on his suit in the film. That character is played by Paul Mullin, who plays as a striker for Wrexham A.F.C, a football club owned by Ryan Reynolds. The voice actors left comments on the Marvel Website, all of them being thankful for having played some part in the movie.
