As a long-time devotee of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, I can hardly contain my excitement as production for the sequel to the 2023 film kicks off! The tantalizing glimpse of Toy Bonnie from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has me on the edge of my seat – and I’m not even sure if that’s a good or bad thing.
The manufacturing process is ongoing for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, a follow-up to the 2023 film derived from the widely acclaimed video game franchise. Despite the movie not being released in cinemas until late 2025, enthusiasts were recently granted a sneak preview of what awaits them.
On social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), Scott Cawthon, the mastermind behind Five Nights at Freddy’s, marked the 10th anniversary of the original game with thrilling posts. One of these updates showcased animatronics being manufactured by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, offering fans a sneak peek at Toy Bonnie.
As the character’s creation is ongoing, it already has an unsettling appearance, characterized by its striking, oversized green eyes. This early glimpse hints at the upcoming sequel maintaining the original video game’s aesthetics, similar to the first movie.
As a long-time fan of Scott Cawthon’s horror game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s, I was thrilled to see him sharing a fun challenge for fans recently. He posted four different images of screenplay pages on his social media platform and hinted that only one of them is from the actual script for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Being a dedicated fan who has spent countless hours playing these games, I couldn’t resist the temptation to participate in this challenge.
The pictures include a variety of characters, including Abby, Vanessa, and Toy Chica, along with new faces like Gemma and Darrin. While many expressed excitement at the behind-the-scenes look, many fans on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) are already discussing the leaked script pages. Each scene is different, leaving fans unsure of their context, but the inclusion of children in three out of four scenes has raised some concerns.

Despite some plot details being kept secret for now, it’s anticipated that Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson will once again take on their characters in the upcoming sequel. A sneak peek at Toy Bonnie suggests that fresh animatronic characters may appear, mirroring the toy-inspired designs from the video games. Given his significant influence on the original film’s narrative, Scott Cawthon is likely to play a substantial role in this sequel as well.
Previously, Director Emma Tammi hinted that some threads left unresolved in the initial film may be tied up in the upcoming sequel. She’s thrilled about expanding the narrative and delving deeper into the world of Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2025.
