As a dedicated follower of inspiring stories that show the power of resilience and determination, I am absolutely thrilled by Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming production, Unstoppable. The fact that Jharrel Jerome will be portraying Anthony Robles, a man who defied all odds to become an NCAA Division I wrestling champion despite being born without a leg and growing up in an abusive household, is truly heartening.
On August 8th, Amazon Studios unveiled the initial images of the captivating wrestling drama titled “Unstoppable,” starring Jharrel Jerome as Anthony Robles, which tells an inspiring story.
The play, penned by Eric Champnella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman, is led by Jennifer Lopez portraying Judy, the character’s mother; Bobby Cannavale as Rick, her father; Michael Peña enacting Coach Bobby Williams; and Don Cheadle in the role of wrestling coach Shawn Charles.

The film narrates the struggles and hardships faced by the book’s author (Robles) on his journey to becoming an uncontested wrestling champion, as detailed in Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated.
Raised in a harsh environment and born with only one leg, Robles astonished everyone by ascending to the rank of an NCAA Division I wrestler, culminating in his triumphant victory at the national championship – against the very school that initially turned him down.
In this scenario, Amazon’s Unstoppable signifies the first directorial venture of William Goldenberg, who has previously won an Oscar for editing (in Argo). The production team includes Ben Affleck and Matt Damon from Artists Equity, along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas from Nuyorican Productions, David Crockett from Coonskin Cap, Andy Fraser from A Really Good Home Pictures, Gary Lewis, and Robles.
The executive producers for this project are Dani Bernfeld from Artists Equity, along with Michael Joe, Kevin Holloran, and Jack Murray.
In 2023, the movie “Air” – Amazon MGM’s second joint production with Artists Equity, following Ben Affleck’s critically-acclaimed sports marketing drama – grossed $90 million globally in theaters before its release on Prime Video.
