Did Ryan Reynolds Cry At SDCC Premiere Of Deadpool & Wolverine? Find Out As Actor Reveals Reason

As a die-hard fan who has been following the Marvel Universe since the Blade trilogy days, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the magical chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine. The emotional moments at San Diego Comic-Con, especially Ryan’s tears for Wesley Snipes, brought a lump to my throat too! It’s like we all were transported back to the early 2000s, reliving the glory days of Marvel.

The film featuring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” has been a success at the box office. This action-packed movie debuted both in theaters on July 26 and at the San Diego Comic-Con, where the actor displayed his emotions. The film not only unites Reynolds and Jackman on the silver screen but also welcomes back iconic actors by reprising their roles from the franchise within the movie itself.

During an interview with Collider, the actor admitted that the audience’s applause for Wesley Snipes during the scene left him feeling quite emotional at the time. After almost a decade away, Wesley Snipes made his comeback on screen, donning his Blade costume once more. The actor shared the screen with Jennifer Garner and Channing Tatum, who both reappeared as Elektra and Gambit in their respective roles.

During a past interview, The Proposal’s star mentioned that Snipes received a warm welcome with enthusiastic cheers, indicating that the audience approved of his casting choice.

During an interview with the media outlet, Reynolds expressed that he wept at San Diego Comic-Con due to a strong sense of redemption and appreciation for Wesley Snipes’ powerful presence as a movie star.

He remarked, “Our wager centered around the depth of audience affection for him—perhaps they weren’t fully aware of it until now.”

Director Shawn Levy also expressed his delight as he watched fans’ enthusiasm for the film. In fact, he confessed that he has developed something of an obsession with viewing fan reaction videos to the movie.

Levy confessed, “I find myself slightly hooked on the surge of reaction videos circulating across social media platforms. They’re almost like a drug for me because they evoke the same exhilaration I felt at Comic-Con and whenever I watched the film. It’s that raw, unadulterated joy we aimed to infuse into this movie.”

Besides posting a sequence of images with Wesley Snipes on Instagram, Reynolds also referred to him as the “Marvel Dad.” In his caption, he praised the veteran actor, stating, “Neither the Fox Marvel Universe nor the MCU would exist without Blade paving the way. He is our Marvel Dad. Let’s share this for a fitting farewell, much like Logan.”

Besides Ryan Reynolds, who played Deadpool, he also expressed appreciation towards Channing Tatum and Jennifer Garner. In the film, former Marvel characters like Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth made cameo appearances.

Deadpool & Wolverine is running in theaters successfully.
