Lily Collins will be playing the iconic Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming movie. The film will focus on the making of Hepburn’s classic film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
This project isn’t a remake of the well-known love story. Instead, it’s a behind-the-scenes look at how the iconic 1961 film was made. Collins will also be producing. The movie is based on Sam Wasson’s book, Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M., which explores the making of the film and its influence on culture.
Alena Smith, the creator of the Apple TV+ show Dickinson, is writing the screenplay. A director for the project hasn’t been chosen yet.

The classic film, based on a story by Truman Capote, centers around the charming socialite Holly Golightly and her relationship with a writer who becomes her neighbor. The upcoming movie will focus on the drama behind the scenes, particularly the disagreements over who should play Holly. Capote strongly wanted Marilyn Monroe for the role and was upset when the studio chose Audrey Hepburn instead, feeling they hadn’t listened to his vision.
The film will feature real people who were involved in the original story, including director Blake Edwards and costume designer Edith Head. A particularly dramatic moment – a risky incident that happened on location near the famous Tiffany & Co. store in New York – will also be shown. The actors playing these historical figures haven’t been announced yet.
Collins announced her excitement about the role on Instagram, sharing that it’s been nearly a decade in the making and a dream come true, fueled by her lifelong love for Audrey. She said she’s incredibly honored and thrilled to finally share the news.
Imagine Entertainment is producing the film, with Brian Grazer as one of the producers. Additional producers and executives from various companies are also involved.
Lily Collins is famous for playing the main character in the popular show Emily in Paris, which will be back for a sixth season. She’s also starred in the films Rules Don’t Apply and Mank.
This movie tells the story of how a famous film was made, revealing the struggles and conflicts that happened during production. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at a movie that had a huge impact on fashion, filmmaking, and popular culture.
