As a long-time fan of the Blade franchise, I must confess my excitement for the upcoming Marvel Studios project is unparalleled. The prospect of Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali donning the iconic Daywalker’s cape and fangs has me on the edge of my seat! However, the ongoing production delays have been a source of concern for many, including some fans who seem to think that canceling the project would be a wise decision.

It’s common knowledge that “Blade” is an eagerly awaited Marvel Studios production, set to introduce the renowned antihero into the MCU. The esteemed Oscar-winner, Mahershala Ali, will portray the titular character in the movie, while Mia Goth will take on the role of Lilith. This project promises to be a delight for enthusiasts of the iconic vampire slayer, as many fans eagerly anticipate it.

Although the movie is highly anticipated with a tentative release in 2025, we’ve been sharing updates about various issues and production hold-ups, leaving many unsure of its status. It’s clear that Snipes endorsefully stands by Mahershala Ali in the upcoming Blade movie, just like the other cast members do.

Following my Oscar win, I, Mahershala Ali, deeply identified Blade as my personal Black Panther character. Though Nic Pizzolatto had been hired and production was slated to start in May 2023, the SAG-AFTRA strike brought about substantial delays that disrupted everyone’s timeline. The project has undergone significant changes since then, with Michael Green stepping into the writer’s role.

Instead of being a historical story about Blade’s daughter and Lilith, as initially planned, the upcoming movie is expected to focus on Blade himself in contemporary times, with him continuing his vampire-hunting mission. The role of Lilith will still be present, but it will likely be Mia Goth portraying her instead.

Nevertheless, Shelby Weiser, legal representative for Ali, has voiced her discontent over the prolonged postponements in the Blade project. Notably, filming hasn’t begun even after the 2019 agreement, causing a surge of speculation. Some rumors suggest that Ali may have abandoned the project, but those close to it assure us that things will turn out well and we can only trust them while eagerly awaiting the release of the movie.
