Denzel Washington

As a huge Denzel Washington fan, I’ve always admired how he uses his platform. It’s amazing that he created Mundy Lane Entertainment specifically to champion Black stories! Seeing him produce ‘Fences’ and bring August Wilson’s incredible work to the big screen was a real treat. But it’s not just about one film – he consistently opens doors for talented minority actors to take on these really powerful, dramatic roles. He’s truly dedicated to making sure stories that celebrate history and culture get told, and I really respect that.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman started Revelations Entertainment to create films and shows that explore important truths and make audiences think. He’s been involved in producing projects like the movie ‘Invictus’ and the TV series ‘Madam Secretary’. The company is dedicated to featuring diverse actors and telling stories that offer fresh viewpoints on global issues. Will Smith

I’m a huge fan of Will Smith, and I’ve been so impressed watching his career grow beyond acting! What I really love is that he consistently uses his platform to tell positive stories and give opportunities to up-and-coming talent, especially people from different backgrounds. He’s truly one of the most consistently working and successful actor-producers out there today.

Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry created a major film and television studio in Atlanta, giving him complete control over his work. He’s known for hits like ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’ and the popular series ‘House of Payne’. A key part of his approach is to employ Black actors and crew members on all his projects. Perry has opened doors and changed what’s possible for Black filmmakers working outside the traditional studio system.

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx runs Foxxhole Productions, a company that creates films and TV shows. He was a producer on the movie ‘Just Mercy,’ which explored problems within the American legal system. Through his production work, Foxx frequently focuses on social justice issues and creates opportunities for actors of color. He consistently uses his platform to share impactful stories.

Samuel L. Jackson

I’m really inspired by Michael B. Jordan and what he’s building with Outlier Society. He started it because he truly believes in bringing more diversity to Hollywood, and he’s putting his money where his mouth is! He was one of the first big names to use an inclusion rider – basically guaranteeing representation – on all his projects. They’ve already made some cool stuff like ‘Without Remorse’ and the ‘Gen Lock’ series, but what I admire most is his commitment to giving opportunities to actors and filmmakers who haven’t traditionally had a voice in the industry. He’s really focused on creating big, mainstream chances for them, and that’s awesome.

Sterling K. Brown

Sterling K. Brown created Indian Meadows Productions to promote diverse stories and those rooted in specific regions. He wants to create projects that honestly portray the human experience, particularly from a Black perspective. The company will develop both fictional and non-fictional content for television and other media, and Brown is committed to making sure a wide range of voices are included in the creative process.

John Boyega

John Boyega started UpperRoom Productions to create African stories, particularly in the science fiction genre. Morris Chestnut

Morris Chestnut is now producing films and TV shows because he wants to shape the roles offered to Black actors in Hollywood. He’s been an executive producer on several projects, aiming to showcase Black characters in diverse and realistic careers and life situations. While continuing to act, Chestnut is also building a strong presence behind the camera.

Ice Cube

Ice Cube started Cube Vision to create films that appeal to a wide audience, especially urban viewers. He’s behind popular movie series like ‘Friday’ and ‘Barbershop,’ which have given many Black comedians and actors significant opportunities. LL Cool J

As a huge LL Cool J fan, I’ve always admired how much he does for hip hop. He created Rock The Bells to really celebrate and protect everything that makes the culture special, using everything from festivals to documentaries. And it’s not just about the music – he’s also produced shows that give a platform to amazing minority artists. He’s a real bridge-builder, connecting the music world with mainstream TV. Honestly, LL Cool J continues to be a huge force in making sure Black culture gets the recognition and space it deserves.

Common

Common started Freedom Road Productions to create films and TV shows with a positive social message. He’s known for producing shows like ‘The Chi,’ which offers a realistic and complex portrayal of life in Chicago. His company aims to tell stories that help people connect with different viewpoints and foster understanding. Through his production work, Common champions both social progress and artistic creativity.

Ludacris

Ludacris started Karma’s World Entertainment to make fun and educational shows for kids. He created the animated series ‘Karma’s World’ to show positive role models for young Black girls. He’s also working on other projects that celebrate diversity and help kids feel good about themselves. Ludacris is becoming a major force in creating children’s media.

He’s really focused on making awesome martial arts and action films with leads who haven’t always gotten the chance to shine, and he’s committed to training and hiring crews from underrepresented groups. Honestly, he’s a true trailblazer in independent action films, opening doors for so many people.

Taye Diggs

Taye Diggs is now producing projects aimed at highlighting the range and talent of Black actors in both musical and dramatic performances. He’s committed to inclusive casting in his work for television and theater, and often focuses on telling modern stories about the Black experience. Diggs is also dedicated to helping new and diverse voices emerge in the creative world.

Blair Underwood

Blair Underwood is committed to ensuring accurate and meaningful portrayals in film and television, often working as a producer to make it happen. He focuses on projects – including documentaries and dramas – that tell important stories about Black history. By working behind the camera, he champions greater diversity among writers and crew members, and consistently strives to improve the quality of storytelling.

Omari Hardwick

It wasn’t just funny, it gave a real launching pad to so many incredibly talented Black comedians and actors who became huge stars. Beyond that, he’s created and directed some really successful movies that celebrate Black comedy and culture. He’s honestly a pioneer and a really important figure when you look back at how diverse television got made.

Bill Bellamy

I’m a huge fan of Bill Bellamy, and I’m so impressed with what he’s doing! He’s really stepped up to help Black comedians get more chances in TV and movies. He’s already produced some fantastic comedy specials and shows, giving both up-and-coming and well-known comedians a platform. What I love most is that he’s committed to bringing humor that feels real and represents a lot of different experiences to everyone. He’s constantly working on new projects, and it’s clear he’s dedicated to highlighting just how amazing and dynamic the Black comedy world is.

Cedric the Entertainer

I’m a huge fan of Cedric the Entertainer, and it’s awesome to see him not just acting but building his own production company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment! He’s behind some really funny and relatable shows like ‘The Soul Man’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ – I love that they showcase diverse characters and stories. It’s clear he really wants to create content the whole family can enjoy, and that feels really important. Plus, he’s making sure Black stories are still being told on TV, which is fantastic and something I really appreciate.
