How Drake Takes The Last Laugh Amid Feud With Kendrick Lamar

As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of immersion in the dynamic world of music and pop culture, I must say that the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for fans and enthusiasts alike. The summer of 2024 will undoubtedly be remembered as the season when these two titans clashed in a battle of words and beats.

For much of that summer, the musical world was abuzz with the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar in hip-hop. Despite Kendrick coming out on top after his final diss track, “Not Like Us,” dominated the Billboard Hot 100 and broke several Spotify records, it wasn’t a complete loss for Drake.

As a longtime fan of hip-hop music, I find myself consistently astounded by the unprecedented success of Drake, particularly his recent achievement of amassing 10 billion streams on Spotify in two separate years (2023 and 2024). With a career spanning over a decade, it’s incredible to witness such longevity and consistency.

In the fiercely competitive world of diss tracks, I’ve found myself caught up in a whirlwind of releases between Lamar and Drake. Topics ranged from our past disputes, personal family issues, to allegations and gossip. However, it was the Humble rapper who garnered an overwhelming show of support, not just from Bay Area fans but also from fellow rappers.

Despite remaining mysteriously quiet since the end of the feud, fans have speculated that Drake might be preparing for a comeback to mainstream music. Indeed, on August 2, during PartyNextDoor’s hometown tour stop in Toronto, the God’s Plan rapper made an unexpected appearance, performing in his home city as a potential respite from the hostility stirred up by his adversary in the rap battle.

At the lively Canadian city’s Budweiser Stage, Drake delivered an entire repertoire of R&B tunes. Additionally, he unveiled plans for a future collaborative album with fellow OVO label artist, PartyNextDoor, which is scheduled to release in autumn 2024.

The rapper, speaking on behalf of himself and Party, shared that they’ve been preparing something special for everyone. He suggested that as summer winds down, everyone should take care of their responsibilities. He acknowledged that many people are enjoying outdoor activities. He added that when the weather starts to cool down, the new album by PartyNextDoor and Drake will be ready and waiting for all. This information was reported by Billboard at the end of the concert.

Ultimately, Drake expressed appreciation to his fans for their steadfast loyalty over the years in the music business. Even when some of his long-term industry peers chose to align with Lamar following the controversy surrounding “Not Like Us,” Drake’s Canadian roots could only muster gratitude towards the fans who remained loyal through all challenges.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d say my recent comeback in mainstream music hasn’t been as fruitful as I’d hoped. My collaboration with Camila Cabello on C, XOXO didn’t exactly set the world on fire, and my verse on Sexyy Red’s U My Everything didn’t quite resonate with fans like I’d wanted. I also teamed up with Gordo for his dance tracks, Healing and Sideways, but it seems those haven’t made the impact we’d hoped for, according to Rolling Stone.

No matter what happens, it’s clear that the impact of ‘Not Like Us’ will undoubtedly resonate throughout Drake’s extensive musical journey, given his past successes in the industry.

Contrary to that, Kendrick Lamar, aged 36, arranged a Pop Out concert titled “West Coast Reunion: A Celebration of Triumph” in mid-June. The event took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, and was a hit, with the stadium filled to capacity and featuring notable guest performances.
