Harrison Ford on Coming to the MCU: “And I said, ‘I want me some of that. And I got some’”

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) under my belt, I must say that I am beyond excited for Captain America: Brave New World! The transformation of Thaddeus Ross into the Red Hulk, played by none other than Harrison Ford, is an unexpected yet thrilling twist.

Set for launch on Valentine’s Day, 2025, the upcoming movie “Captain America: Brave New World” marks one of the premiere titles in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, this film will present an unexpected development. In this story, Anthony Mackie assumes the role of the new Captain America, succeeding Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers from past installments.

In addition to his previous appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character of Thaddeus Ross is set to have a significant impact in the upcoming film. The movie’s trailer hinted at an exciting development: Ross will transition into the Red Hulk in this instalment. Fans are eagerly anticipating this change, as Harrison Ford has stepped into the roles previously played by the late William Hurt for both Thaddeus Ross and the Red Hulk.

Previously, we’ve shared some of Ford’s remarks about his role. However, at the San Diego Comic-Con, the actor provided additional insights regarding his role, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It was previously known that Harrison Ford would be replacing the late William Hurt in “Captain America: Brave New World,” but what wasn’t disclosed initially was his transformation into the Red Hulk. This information was held in secrecy for quite some time, only to be officially revealed in the trailer’s release. Speaking about maintaining this secret, Ford stated, “I knew it, and I thought it was an amazing secret to keep. Sadly, the cat is now out of the bag.”

In a follow-up question, he was inquired about his decision to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a query intriguing given his previous remarks that financial gain was the sole motivator for him; however, his response at San Diego Comic-Con aligns with his past statements: “I’ve observed other talented actors thrive in the Marvel universe, and I thought, ‘I want that experience too.’ And I managed to secure it.”

In the end, the renowned actor was queried about whether Indiana Jones or Thaddeus Ross was more adept at handling snakes, a nod to his Indiana Jones films and the upcoming role of Giancarlo Esposito as leader of the Serpent Society. To this, the actor responded with a mix of deep respect and blatant dismissal: “I’ve always taken such questions very seriously while also showing them utter disregard. I refuse to answer your foolish question, but thank you for the chance.”

A funny and Harrison Ford-esque answer for the end. Fitting!
