Paramount+ is still a major player in the streaming world, offering a wide range of shows and movies – from popular, long-running dramas and classic cartoons to big-budget original series. Recent viewing numbers show people are enjoying both familiar sitcoms and shows from Taylor Sheridan, which continue to be a key part of the platform’s success. With options ranging from reality TV to intense crime stories, Paramount+ clearly appeals to a wide audience and has something for everyone.

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ (2026)

The latest installment in the ‘Star Trek’ universe centers around a group of Starfleet cadets as they grow up at the famous academy. Guided by their teachers, these students experience new friendships, fierce competition, and a dangerous new threat to the Federation. Created by Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, the series takes place in the 32nd century, the same time period first seen in later seasons of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’. Production began in 2024 with the goal of attracting a new, younger generation of ‘Star Trek’ fans.

‘Survivor’ (2000–)

‘Survivor’ is a popular reality show that’s been on TV since 2000. In each season, a group of strangers is dropped into a remote location and must work together to find food, build shelter, and make fire. They compete in challenges to win prizes and avoid being voted out by the other contestants. The last person remaining wins the title of Sole Survivor and a million dollars. The show is known for helping to create the reality competition genre we see today.

‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ (1999–)

SpongeBob SquarePants is a cartoon about a cheerful yellow sponge who lives in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom. He works as a cook at the Krusty Krab with his friends Patrick Star and Squidward Tentacles. The show has been incredibly popular around the world for many years, leading to movies and other shows. Its unique humor and memorable characters have made it a long-running hit on Nickelodeon.

‘Criminal Minds’ (2005–)

‘Criminal Minds’ is a crime drama that follows a special team of FBI profilers. They investigate the most dangerous criminals by analyzing their behavior and creating psychological profiles. What sets this show apart is its focus on why criminals do what they do, rather than just the crimes themselves. The original series aired on CBS and was later brought back as ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ on Paramount+.

‘Tulsa King’ (2022–)

Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi, nicknamed ‘The General,’ a New York mob boss who gets out of prison after 25 years and is sent to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s told to build a new criminal organization in a city that’s completely foreign to him, so he starts gathering a surprising group of locals to help. The show looks at ideas of faithfulness, treachery, and how old-fashioned mafia rules meet today’s world. Created by Taylor Sheridan, ‘Tulsa King’ has been very popular, leading the streaming service to quickly order another season.

‘School Spirits’ (2023–)

‘School Spirits’ follows Maddie Nears, a teen who mysteriously vanishes and ends up stuck in the afterlife…at her high school. While investigating what happened to her with the help of other students also trapped there, she uncovers unsettling secrets from the school’s past. The series combines the drama of high school life with a supernatural murder mystery, and is inspired by the graphic novel by Nate Trinrud, Megan Trinrud, and Maria Nguyen.

‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ (1996–2005)

As a sitcom fan, I always loved ‘Everybody Loves Raymond.’ It’s about Ray Barone, a sportswriter who seems to have it all going for him, except for one thing: his family! They live right across the street, and his parents and brother are always popping in unexpectedly. A lot of the comedy comes from Ray trying to juggle his work life with the never-ending craziness of his family. It was a huge hit, winning a bunch of Emmys over its nine seasons, and you still see it on TV all the time, which is a testament to how funny it really is.

‘NCIS’ (2003–)

NCIS is a TV show about a team of investigators who solve crimes connected to the Navy and Marine Corps. It’s a mix of serious military drama, detailed forensic work, and lighthearted moments between the characters. For many seasons, the team was led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and they handle cases ranging from terrorism to international spying. The show is one of the longest-running dramas on prime-time television and has led to the creation of several popular spin-off series set in different locations.

‘Landman’ (2024–)

‘Landman’ is a raw and realistic drama set in the fast-paced world of West Texas oil fields. Inspired by the ‘Boomtown’ podcast, the series shows what it’s like for everyone involved – from the workers on the rigs to the wealthy CEOs – and examines the consequences of the oil industry on the land and the economy. Billy Bob Thornton plays a fixer who deals with the tricky situations and risks that come with working in this high-stakes, multi-billion dollar business that powers our world.

‘South Park’ (1997–)

South Park is a popular animated comedy for adults about four friends growing up in a small town in Colorado. The show is famous for its edgy humor and often tackles tough social and political issues through the eyes of kids. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are able to quickly produce episodes, letting them comment on current events as they happen. Since it first aired in 1997, South Park has remained a major hit on TV and streaming services.
