Stellar Blade Will Seemingly Be the Next PS5 Exclusive to Come to Rival Consoles

Sony’s highly anticipated game, Stellar Blade, appears set to no longer be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, suggesting it will be released on other platforms as well.

The game first came out only on PlayStation, but it was released on PC last year, following a recent trend of PlayStation games becoming available on computers.

Korean game developer Shift Up isn’t finished yet. They’ve informed investors they’re considering releasing their games on more platforms – beyond PlayStation 5 and PC – to reach a wider player base.

In the Q&A section of its latest financial report, it continued:

We believe this strategy will attract new players to the game and get them excited for the next installment in the Stellar Blade series. We anticipate 2026 will see more people playing the current game, creating positive buzz and excitement for what’s coming next.

Okay, so everyone’s saying the next Stellar Blade game – the one they’re working on now – is going to be released on all platforms right from the start, which honestly, makes total sense. I’m glad they’re thinking about reaching a wider audience this time around!

It will be interesting to see if Sony releases the game on consoles other than PlayStation, or if they let the developer, Shift Up, handle that. While Sony has published games on Xbox and Switch before, it’s more likely they’d allow Shift Up to publish on those platforms themselves.

Generally, it’s always good when more people enjoy a fantastic game, and Stellar Blade likely isn’t attracting many new players on the PS5 at this stage.

It seems like PlayStation is offering fewer games that you can only play on their consoles, but that’s pretty common in the gaming world right now.

We believe the platform holder was key to the initial success of this game series, and we expect the new sequel to also perform well on PlayStation 5, despite plans for it to eventually release on other platforms.
