For the first time in half a century, Superman and Spider-Man are joining forces in a new comic book series! DC’s Superman and Marvel’s Spider-Man will team up in Superman/Spider-Man, hitting shelves on March 25th. The story is written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Jorge Jimenez, who is drawing Spider-Man for the very first time. Jimenez recently shared a sneak peek online showing the heroes’ initial meeting – not as their superhero selves, but as reporters Clark Kent and Peter Parker.
I’m so excited to have drawn my first Peter Parker for a comic, and to share it with a piece featuring my friend Clark Kent! It’s a dream come true! 😊🔥🙌❤️ Don’t miss out – pre-order before March 2nd! It’s SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN!

I’m really excited about the latest issue! The main story, “Truth, Justice, and Great Responsibility,” teams up Clark Kent and Peter Parker – two of my favorite reporters – as they stumble onto a huge conspiracy. It looks like Brainiac and Doctor Octopus are behind it all, which is fantastic! I’m a little bummed Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn aren’t involved this time, but I hear they’re being saved for a special Spider-Man/Superman one-shot coming soon. And the preview art from Jorge Jimenez? Absolutely stunning – I’ve included a peek in the gallery below!

Mark Waid discussed on the Word Balloon podcast why it’s important for Clark Kent and Peter Parker to connect as journalists, not just as superheroes.
The story introduces Peter and Clark as reporters working on a case. It quickly expands beyond a typical superhero narrative to explore themes of truth, journalism, and the distinction between facts and reality. It also asks questions about a journalist’s duties and, playfully, how a hero like Spider-Man would handle a threat like Brainiac.
The first issue of DC’s Superman/Spider-Man will include extra stories pairing characters from both DC and Marvel. Tom King and Jim Lee will write a story featuring Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson, while Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber will team up Jimmy Olsen and Carnage. A touching story will also connect Clark Kent’s father, Pa Kent, with Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben. Superman/Spider-Man #1 arrives on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and will cost $7.99 for the standard edition and $8.99 for versions with cardstock covers.
