Jennifer Garner, 53, Opens up About Being Totally Cringe to Her Kids

Jennifer Garner is a successful actress, but her kids aren’t exactly impressed by her fame. During a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 51-year-old admitted that her children – Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13 – think she’s embarrassing!

Garner, along with her co-stars from The Last Thing He Told Me, shared that her kids find her totally cringe-worthy and are easily mortified by her public image. The conversation started after she and Jennifer Hudson agreed it’s tough to seem cool to teenagers.

Garner joked that Hudson was giving her some much-needed ‘cool points’ for the day. She explained her kids aren’t very interested in watching her act, especially in emotional or romantic roles. When she asked if they’d watch the new season of her Apple TV+ show, they simply asked, “Do we have to?”

Even though Garner isn’t getting much attention for her own projects right now, she’s received some help from celebrity friends. Her son is currently a huge fan of Game of Thrones, which has made working with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a little more exciting for her. She also shared that her kids adore Judy Greer, who they affectionately call “Aunt Judy,” and who she worked with in 13 Going on 30.

Garner joked that she’s mostly just letting her teenage children make their own decisions these days, as she adjusts to this new phase of motherhood. The actress, who shares three children with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, has been busy with work as well.

Recently, Garner made a glamorous return to the Golden Globes, attending for the first time in thirteen years and wearing a beautiful black sequined gown. She’s also been actively promoting her organic baby food company, Once Upon a Farm, and continues to be passionate about supporting early childhood education.

Jennifer Garner has several exciting projects coming up. Fans can look forward to the second season of her Apple TV+ thriller, The Last Thing He Told Me, premiering on February 20th. This season is based on the book The First Time I Saw Him and continues Hannah Hall’s story as she and her stepdaughter face new challenges with the return of Owen after five years.

Garner is also starring in a new Netflix comedy, One Attempt Remaining, directed by Kay Cannon. The film, which began filming in February, centers on a divorced couple who must revisit a chaotic night from their past to recover a lost cryptocurrency password worth millions, and also features John Cena and Kate McKinnon.

In addition, she’s executive producing and starring in the Peacock limited series The Five-Star Weekend, adapted from the popular novel by Elin Hilderbrand. From intense streaming dramas to relatable family stories, Garner consistently connects with audiences and remains a beloved figure in Hollywood.
