As a die-hard fan of Saturday Night Live (SNL), who has been glued to my television screen every Saturday night for as long as I can remember, I am absolutely thrilled about Jason Reitman’s upcoming film, “Saturday Night.” The fact that it is releasing on the exact anniversary of SNL’s debut in 1975 adds a layer of authenticity and nostalgia that has me practically jumping with joy!


The movie directed by Jason Reitman, focusing on Saturday Night Live’s first night, now comes with a set release date before its debut later this year. On Tuesday, Sony Pictures officially confirmed that the film, named “Saturday Night”, will hit cinemas on October 11.

Cooper Hoffman portrays Dick Ebersol, a former NBC executive, Rachel Sennott plays the role of Lorne Michaels’ ex-wife and ex-SNL writer, Rosie Shuster, while Gabriel LaBelle takes on the character of Lorne Michaels himself, the creator of the series.
