Oh boy, oh boy! As a lifelong Marvel fan who can remember the days of flipping through the old comic books at my local corner store, I am absolutely thrilled with the latest developments from San Diego Comic-Con. The announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Secret Wars has me positively giddy!

Gather all you passionate Avengers fans! Marvel’s head honcho, Kevin Feige, spilled some exciting secrets at San Diego Comic-Con about the upcoming slate of Marvel and Avengers films. We just can’t contain our excitement as he hinted at projects like The Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts, among others in the MCU!

As a long-time Marvel fan, I must say that the latest news about the upcoming Avengers movies has left me absolutely thrilled! The revelation of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty being renamed to Doomsday is a surprising yet exciting twist. With such a legendary title, I can only imagine the epic storyline that awaits us.

Who is going to be there in Avengers: Secret Wars?

The film “Avengers: Secret Wars” is adapted from comics sharing the same title, focusing on an epic cosmic conflict between superheroes and villains across various universes. At San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige shared some hints about the movie while keeping most details secret, but he did reveal a few characters expected to appear in the 2027 release.

Additionally, it was verified by Kevin that the actors participating in the Hall H panel are likewise set to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame film.

Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom

Following his portrayal of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. reappears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this time taking on a new role – as the antagonist Doctor Doom. The Russo Brothers, directors for Avengers 5 and 6, have hinted at Downey’s return as part of the long-awaited Secret Wars storyline.

At Comic-Con, as a dedicated follower, I overheard the Russo brothers mentioning something quite intriguing: “For Secret Wars to be done right, there’s one crucial character we need. Marvel hasn’t introduced this figure yet, and if they do, it could be the most significant character across the entire Marvel universe.”

Marvel Studios has chosen to title Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as Avengers: Doomsday (Avengers 5), with the return of Robert Downey Jr as the main antagonist. What makes this announcement intriguing is that Downey’s character in Secret Wars will encounter numerous characters who had prior relationships with Tony Stark (Iron Man). This could add an emotional depth to the storyline, given the potential interactions and reactions among these characters.

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic

Kevin Feige announced the cast for the Fantastic Four and its new title, “Fantastic Four: First Footsteps.” Moreover, he introduced Pedro Pascal to the assembly, who is set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic. Notably, he’s slated to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, in addition to his own individual film.

Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman

Vanessa Kirby’s portrayal of Sue Storm/Invisible Woman is crucial given her significant role in the comics, suggesting she could become a major female superhero. The fact that she has been cast for Avengers 6 indicates that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is planning well beyond 2025 and aligns with Kirby’s character’s 1960s timeline.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/Thing

Ebon Moss-Bachrach has been officially cast as Ben Grimm, better known as the Thing and a close friend of Mr. Fantastic (Richards). In addition, he is set to appear in the upcoming “Avengers: Secret Wars.” While the specifics about his character remain unknown due to Grimm’s new abilities, we can anticipate an exciting portrayal.

Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of the upcoming Fantastic Four adventure, stepping into the flaming shoes of Johnny Storm, also known as Human Torch. In this extraordinary team, I’ll be the youngest member and Sue Storm’s younger brother. The anticipation surrounding how I’ll bring this iconic character to life is palpable, especially considering Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan’s stellar portrayals in the Fox-verse of the Fantastic Four movies.

Who else will join Avengers: Secret Wars?

In addition to these 5 actors, Kevin Feige mentioned that several other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) actors are expected to join the cast. He stated, “The cast of ‘Fantastic Four’ and many other familiar faces from today will also feature in the two ‘Avengers’ movies we’re currently producing.”

In this scenario, we could consider Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Captain America and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova being part of it, given their recent participation. However, only the Marvel honcho knows who else will be joining them in Avengers 6. So, let’s stay tuned for updates on the final cast.
