Goldsman is tasked with creating a successful follow-up to “Practical Magic,” the much-anticipated movie sequel based on Alice Hoffman’s novel of the same name, and the initial film helmed by Griffin Dunne.
After announcing that Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman will once again play Sally and Gillian in the upcoming Owen witches movie, Kidman suggested that there is more to the storyline than what has already been told, according to ComicBook. Therefore, Bullock and Kidman will carry on with the Owen witches’ adventure, revealing additional details about the film’s plot.

Regarding the potential release year for the upcoming sequel, she disclosed that it’s most probable that it will come out around 2025, with an exact date yet to be determined as the project is still in its initial stages and has not yet secured a director.

In the 1998 movie “Practical Magic,” two sister witches named Sally and Gillian Owens grow up together under the care of their aunts Frances and Jet, after their parents pass away. Over time, the Owens sisters come to understand that they have inherited magical abilities, making the whispers about their ancestry as witches a reality. However, this revelation is only the beginning of their troubles. An ancient curse haunts them, denying each sister the chance for lasting happiness and love. Despite their best efforts, the partners of Sally and Gillian inexplicably meet untimely demises, leaving the sisters to seek explanations.
Among the actors who joined the production were Alexandra Artrip, Evan Rachel Wood, Stockard Channing, Aidan Quinn, Dianne Wiest, and Camilla Belle, along with others. Bullock and Kidman have confirmed their return for the upcoming project, but there’s been no update regarding the participation of the remaining cast members.
