You can now play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription. This launch happens alongside the announcement of a new RPG coming to the Premium tier of Xbox Game Pass in 2025.
Released in February 2025, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a new video game based on James Cameron’s popular Avatar movies. Developed by Massive Entertainment, a studio owned by Ubisoft, the game has received mostly positive reviews. It currently holds an 80/100 score and an 83% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Reviewers especially liked how realistically the game recreates the world of Pandora and found the combat engaging. However, some criticized the game for having repetitive side missions and a somewhat underwhelming story.
Xbox Game Pass Rounds Out February 2026 Wave 1 Lineup with Two Final Additions
For the first time, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available on Microsoft’s Game Pass service, added to both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate today. The February 17th update also brought Avowed to the Xbox Game Pass Premium library, just before its one-year anniversary. As a game developed by a Microsoft-owned studio, Avowed has always been included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and now it’s available on all tiers except the basic Essential plan.

With the addition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Avowed, the first set of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in February 2026 is now complete. We might find out what’s included in the second wave of games later today, February 17, probably around 9 a.m. Eastern Time. That wave is expected to include the full release of Towerborne, a side-scrolling action RPG from Stoic Studio, which will also be available on Xbox Game Pass Premium on February 17. PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers have been able to play an early preview version of the game since February 2025.

Although Xbox Game Pass will lose five games in February 2026, the service is currently adding many more games than it’s losing. So far this month, 14 new titles have been added, and more are still to come. This is a big improvement over last February, when only eight games were added but twelve were removed.
Between March and August 2026, Xbox Game Pass will add several confirmed titles, including Planet of Lana 2, Replaced, Nova Roma, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation. Plus, over 20 more games are set to launch directly into the service sometime in 2026. These include highly anticipated titles like Tropico 7, Witchbrook, Wildekin, Super Meat Boy 3D, and Subnautica 2.
