At Comic-Con 2024 in San Diego, the excitement returns after the turbulence caused by the Hollywood strike the previous year. The anticipation surrounding new trailers unveiled at the event remains strong, leaving attendees speculating about upcoming projects. This renowned pop culture gathering is prepared to astonish with surprising announcements for new releases. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Most anticipated trailers from Comic Con

Approximately two months ago, we got our first peek at the teaser trailer for Amazon Prime’s upcoming fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Fans believe that the release date for the final trailer coincides perfectly with this year’s Comic-Con schedule. This new show takes viewers on a journey a thousand years prior to J.R.R. Tolkien’s original novels, which brought us the iconic Lord of the Rings trilogy. Alongside Transformers One and Everybody Still Hates Chris, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has secured a spot on the schedule.

Among the announced trailers, new debuts are HBO’s “The Penguins” and “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” on AMC/AMC+. “The Penguins,” a crime drama limited series from Lauren LeFranc, follows the character Penguin as he rises through Gotham City’s criminal underworld based on DC Comics. In contrast, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” is a spin-off focusing on the original show’s title character, Dixon, who takes center stage. The second part of this series, titled “The Book of Carol,” is set to be released towards the end of September this year.

Fans will receive new information about the future of Marvel’s Star Wars comic series as several related panels are scheduled, given that it has been announced these main titles will conclude towards the end of the year.

At this convention, which is known for being one of the biggest events for pop culture enthusiasts, there are numerous options catering to various fan bases. For instance, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants turns 25 this year, and in commemoration, the conference hosts have scheduled a panel in Hall H on Thursday, July 25th. Marvel is planning for two panel discussions this time around, even though they released just one film in 2019: Deadpool and Wolverine. Fans are excitedly looking forward to significant announcements and developments regarding Marvel’s Phase 5.
