A romantic atmosphere filled the 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 13th. The event quickly became a showcase for fashion as Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow arrived in eye-catching, soft pink outfits.
The event highlighted the Arlington Artist of the Year Award, a recently established prize debuting in 2025 to recognize artists performing at the renowned Arlington Theatre. Actress Hudson won the award for her role in the musical film, Song Sung Blue, a performance that has already earned her nominations for Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and Academy Awards. She is the second person to receive the award, following Timothée Chalamet who won it the previous year.

The festival also honored Kate Hudson’s impressive career, spanning over two decades. A significant portion of the evening was dedicated to showcasing her work, with a special focus on her latest film. In this movie, directed by Craig Brewer, she plays opposite Hugh Jackman as a couple who discover love and renewed meaning in life by forming a tribute band celebrating the music of Neil Diamond.
