As a seasoned researcher with a background in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, I have witnessed the rapid growth and evolution of the crypto industry over the past few years. With my extensive experience comes a deep understanding of the importance of security and self-custody when it comes to managing digital assets.
In a recent announcement, Tangem, a prominent self-custody cryptocurrency wallet, unveiled its new feature enabling support for native tokens of the Cardano blockchain. This update empowers users to securely store, manage, and keep their ADA holdings alongside other Cardano-native assets such as Iagon (IAG) and SingularityNET (AGIX).
On X, the team at Tangem requested users to install the latest app version to utilize a fresh feature. This enhancement allows users to explore and regulate their Cardano tokens using the “Manage Token” tab. However, it’s important to note that staking for Cardano is currently absent from the wallet, but Tangem promises its implementation in the near future.
“Can I use native tokens from the Cardano network, such as $IAG, $AGIX, $COPI, and $WMT, with Tangem now? Upgrade your app immediately for this new functionality!” Or, “Check out the latest update to Tangem! Now securely store and manage your Cardano-based tokens like $IAG, $AGIX, $COPI, and $WMT within our wallet.”— Tangem (@Tangem) July 16, 2024
The Cardano community expressed enthusiasm towards the announcement, with numerous individuals commending Tangem on social media platforms and others placing orders for Tangem’s wallets as a demonstration of their backing for the company and its initiatives.
With this update, Tangem now supports a grand total of 61 networks. Among them are well-known names like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), as well as newer entrants such as Shibarium and Solana (SOL). Since its debut in 2021, Tangem has solidified its position in the hardware wallet sector, producing over a million cards.
A cryptocurrency expert recently proposed that the digital token ADA of the Cardano platform might experience a surge in value following its escape from a prolonged consolidation within a falling wedge configuration.
