‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Part 2 Trailer Finally Drops — Benedict and Sophie’s High-Stakes Romance Reaches a Breaking Point

The new trailer for the second part of Bridgerton Season 4 reveals that Sophie and Benedict’s relationship will be seriously challenged. You can watch the final four episodes on Netflix starting February 26th, and it looks like things are about to get very intense!

The latest episodes reveal a new side to Benedict. According to actor Luke Thompson, viewers will see a version of the character they haven’t encountered before. “This isn’t the storyline many expected for Benedict,” Thompson says, “and he’s quite different in the second half of the season.”

The first part of the series concluded with a pivotal moment: Benedict made a bold proposal to Sophie (Yerin Ha), but she didn’t respond. Sophie’s reaction to this offer drives the story in Part 2. Having been disappointed by those in positions of authority previously, Sophie views Benedict and his promises with deep skepticism. As Yerin Ha explains, Sophie simply doesn’t trust anyone who offers a promise, because those promises have never held true for her.

Taking a chance on love is always worthwhile. Season 4, Part 2 of Bridgerton, featuring Benedict and Sophie’s story, arrives February 26th.

The trailer suggests Benedict is facing bigger risks than he thinks. His mother, Violet Bridgerton (played by Ruth Gemmell), implies that pursuing a relationship with a maid could lead to social ruin and strain his family relationships. Despite his high social standing, he’s still bound by the strict rules of London society.

Sophie and Benedict still feel a strong connection, and despite the risks and difficulties, they keep finding their way back to each other. The trailer highlights this push and pull, leaving viewers to wonder if their love is worth the sacrifices they might have to make.

Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, and his wife Kate, played by Simone Ashley, return from India with their baby, who is now the family’s heir. Anthony quickly falls back into his role as the direct and outspoken older brother, offering guidance to Benedict during a difficult time. The couple provides support as Benedict navigates his own challenges.

Sophie receives encouragement from Alfie, a Penwood House footman portrayed by David Moorst. He urges her to confront her emotions and think about what she really desires, even if it’s frightening.

While the main love story unfolds, other characters are facing important decisions too. Violet develops a connection with Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis) and starts to think about her own desires after years of prioritizing her family. According to showrunner Jess Brownell, Violet is finally letting herself pursue what will make her happy, after spending so much time supporting everyone else.

Okay, so things are really changing up in the ton this season. I’m still rooting for Lady Danbury – Adjoa Andoh is amazing – and her desire to leave society, but Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuvel, totally has the power to let her or stop her. We’ve got Francesca Bridgerton, now played by Hannah Dodd, having to navigate some new family stuff with Michaela Stirling, Masali Baduza, joining the mix. And the biggest thing? Penelope Featherington, Nicola Coughlan, is suddenly super close to the Queen! It makes you wonder what Lady Whistledown is going to write about now, doesn’t it?
