This game is set early in Kratos’ life, when he was still a powerful Spartan warrior. It’s a 2D action game in the style of Metroidvania, where Kratos uses a spear to battle creatures from Greek mythology. The story takes place during his difficult training with his brother, Deimos, at the Agoge. TC Carson, who originally voiced Kratos in the God of War series, returns to narrate the game, titled Sons of Sparta.
God of War: Sons of Sparta is $29.99 on the PlayStation store.
Sony also revealed, through Carson (who goes by “O.G. T.C.”), that a remake of the original Greek Trilogy games is being made to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, starting in March.
