Watch the First Full-Color Trailer for ‘Spider-Noir’

Amazon has given fans a closer look at its upcoming Spider-Noir series, confirming it will be released in two distinct visual styles. Trailers showcase the difference: one version will be in full color, and the other will be a true black and white, mirroring the style of classic noir films that inspired the show.

The official trailer for ‘Spider-Noir’ is now available in full color. The series will premiere on Prime Video on May 27th.

The new show centers on Spider-Man Noir, a grittier version of the popular Marvel character. He originally appeared in a 2009 comic book by David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Marko Djurdjević. While some fans may recognize him from the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where Nicolas Cage voiced the character, Cage is reprising his role for this series.

This story features Ben Reilly as the hero, not Peter Parker. Set in 1930s New York, it centers on a down-on-his-luck detective who unexpectedly becomes the city’s sole protector after a devastating incident.

The new live-action series “Spider-Noir,” featuring Nicolas Cage, will debut on Prime Video May 27th. It’s presented in striking black and white and vibrant full color, playing on the idea that without power, there’s no responsibility.

The show will first premiere on MGM+ on May 25th. Then, on May 27th, all episodes will be released globally on Prime Video. Sony Pictures Television is producing the series, which was developed for television by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal are also producers on the project.

The first two episodes of the show were directed by Harry Bradbeer, who also directed the acclaimed series Fleabag and Killing Eve. A large team of executive producers contributed to the project, including Harry Bradbeer himself, as well as Cage, Uziel, Lightfoot, Hatoupis, Pascal, Sood, Shear, Lord, and Miller.
