Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Accidentally Coordinate Looks for Their First NYC Court Appearance

Former co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni unexpectedly came face-to-face at a New York City courthouse this week, hoping to settle their legal dispute before it went to trial. Both attended a court-ordered meeting on February 11th to try and reach an agreement. In a strange and quickly noticed detail, they both happened to be wearing outfits in shades of olive green and pink, a coincidence some observers found oddly harmonious given their ongoing legal battle.

This hearing was the first time Lively and Baldoni were in the same courtroom since Lively filed a serious complaint late last year. Lively claims she experienced sexual harassment and unfair treatment while working on a film, and that Baldoni and others tried to damage her reputation.

Baldoni has repeatedly denied these claims, calling the lawsuit false and an attempt to harm him. The two sides spent almost seven hours in private discussions with a judge, Sarah L. Cave, but were unable to reach an agreement.

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told reporters that no settlement was reached, meaning the case is likely to proceed to a jury trial on May 18th.

The legal battle has become more complicated in the last year, involving several celebrities and resulting in some lawsuits against news companies being dropped. Blake Lively’s lawyers have indicated that her famous friends, like Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds, might be asked to share information during the trial.

Though Justin Baldoni seemed calm and smiled as he left with his wife, Emily, Lively looked more serious and didn’t speak to the press after leaving the courthouse.

Despite a continuing $550 million legal battle, both actors are trying to continue their careers. Blake Lively recently returned to acting in Another Simple Favor, a sequel to her 2018 hit, which received positive reviews. She’s now getting ready to star in and produce a new action-comedy called The Survival List, where she’ll play a TV producer who finds herself stranded on a deserted island with a fake survival expert.

Justin Baldoni is busy with his production company, Wayfarer Studios, as well. He recently produced the sports drama The Senior, featuring Michael Chiklis, which was released in 2025. He’s also reportedly working on a new documentary series about men’s emotional lives and what it means to be a modern father – topics he’s explored in his previous book and podcast.
