Mattel Reveals New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie Toys

Fans have been waiting a long time for the Master of the Universe movie, and the first trailer shows it’s a faithful recreation of the classic cartoon and toy line. To celebrate, Mattel released a collector’s series called Masters of the Universe Chronicles. But they also know kids want to play with He-Man! Before Toy Fair, Mattel unveiled a new line of 5.5-inch MOTU movie figures designed for younger fans. These figures are highly detailed and look just like the actors in the film, with 14 points of movement and each one includes a unique accessory inspired by the movie. You can see pictures of the new figures in the gallery below.

Masters of the Universe Kids Core Assortment

The latest collection of Masters of the Universe action figures follows the classic format, pitting the heroic defenders of Eternia against Skeletor’s evil forces. He-Man leads the heroes, and is available as a standard figure and a Power Sword Slash He-Man with action features. Alongside him are Battle Cat and the warrior Teela. Representing the villains is Skeletor, along with his loyal Beast Man and one of his Skel-Knights. A Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor figure with a twisting action feature is also included. Standard figures cost $10.70 each, while the larger, deluxe figures are priced at $16.19.

The first wave of Masters of the Universe toys includes some really exciting items! Kids can pretend to be He-Man with a massive 27-inch Power Sword and shout, “I have the power!” This sword costs $43.19. There’s also a Roton vehicle for the action figures, priced at $37.79. But the coolest item might be the talking Skeletor mask. It says six phrases and plays four evil laughs from the movie when you open its jaw – perfect for fans of this classic villain! These new toys should be available in stores this spring, before the movie comes out in June.
