With a new Mummy movie on the horizon from Lee Cronin, exciting news has emerged: a fourth installment is officially in the works! Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are set to reprise their roles in the sequel, much to the delight of fans. While the original Mummy film starring Fraser and Weisz is a beloved classic – and holds a special place for many – the sequels haven’t quite lived up to the same standard. In fact, Weisz didn’t appear in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Hopefully, this new movie will recapture the magic of the original. Fraser himself has said the idea for The Mummy 4 is the film he always wanted to make, and now it’s finally happening. Here’s hoping it lives up to the hype!
According to Variety, Universal Pictures plans to release The Mummy 4, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, in theaters on May 19, 2028. The film will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, with a script by David Coggeshall.
We’re still interested and excited about this project! It seems like a talented group of people are working on it, both in front of and behind the camera. We always enjoy a fun, action-packed adventure with a bit of romance and maybe some scares. A great movie is exactly what we need after a few disappointments. We’re just hoping The Mummy 4 avoids those creepy, flesh-eating bugs – they really bother us!
