It’s not surprising, but James Gunn’s DC Universe seems to have cancelled yet another project that was originally announced.
According to John Rocha, the planned Themyscira series, Paradise Lost, is no longer happening.
As I mentioned before, I don’t think James Gunn will be involved with a Wonder Woman project for the DC Universe, especially with Warner Bros. Discovery potentially being sold.

Paradise Lost Reportedly Shut Down
On his program, Rocha reported that DC Studios had been discussing a potential Paradise Lost project with writers and considering their ideas, but ultimately decided to cancel it.
Rocha emphasized this was not a case of the show being paused or waiting on the right script.
Sources say the TV series based on Paradise Lost has been cancelled, and writers who submitted story ideas have been told the project is no longer being developed.
I’m hearing that DC had meetings with writers and was considering pitches for a TV show based on ‘Paradise Lost,’ but the project has been cancelled. It’s not just on hold – it’s completely dead, and won’t be moving forward.
Writers and storytellers who were working on the ‘Paradise Lost’ project have been informed it’s been cancelled and is no longer in development. This is significant news, especially considering many found it strange to create a show set in Themyscira without including Wonder Woman.
Well, this is disappointing news for DC fans. Paradise Lost was initially presented as a key part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe television plans – one of the very first projects announced, in fact. Now, it seems it’s been shelved, joining a growing list of DCU projects that aren’t moving forward. It really feels like things are shifting under our feet with this new direction.

Gunn’s Shift To The Superman Family Saga
The cancellation lines up with what my insiders have been reporting for some time.
Reports suggested James Gunn was shifting his main attention from building the entire DC Universe to a story centered around Superman and his related characters, and industry publications confirmed this.
This change makes it seem less likely that Wonder Woman will be a major focus in the future of the DC Universe, along with Batman, especially while James Gunn is in charge.
We’ve learned from sources within Warner Bros. Discovery that James Gunn is now being asked to avoid making big public statements, as the company wants to prevent having to retract announcements later on.
We’ve also been told Gunn is out as head of the DCU once WBD is sold.
