Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas manage to enjoy family time with their daughter, Malti, even with their hectic careers. However, their journey to parenthood wasn’t easy. Nick Jonas recently shared on Jay Shetty’s podcast that Malti was born under very difficult and emotional circumstances.

Nick Jonas says Malti underwent 6 blood transfusions at birth

Malti Marie Chopra Jonas is the daughter of Nick and Priyanka Jonas, and brings immense joy to their lives. However, her arrival wasn’t straightforward. Nick Jonas shared with Jay Shetty that they had originally expected Malti to be born in April, but she arrived unexpectedly in January 2022.

Their daughter was born through surrogacy, and when she arrived, she weighed just 1 pound, 11 ounces and was a deep purple color, he remembered tearfully. He described the nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit as “angels” for reviving his daughter and providing her with care. This all happened during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, so he and his wife spent nearly 12 hours each day at the hospital for the next three and a half months.

I can still feel it so strongly – some experiences just stay with you,” the famous singer shared, explaining that being in the hospital daily was both reassuring and scary. Thankfully, their daughter, Malti, was a fighter and battled hard for months, gradually gaining weight. “After six blood transfusions, she really turned a corner. We were finally able to bring her home after three and a half months,” Nick Jonas added.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have become famous for their romance. They began dating, then married in December 2018 with both Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies in Jodhpur, India. In recent years, they welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, through surrogacy.
