So, Palantir. PLTR, as they insist on calling it. Like we’re all supposed to be in on some secret. It dropped 11.62% today, landing at $139.54. And everyone’s acting shocked. Shocked! They had a good quarter, apparently. Revenue up 70%? Fine. But 70% of what, exactly? It’s like they’re trying to distract you with big numbers while simultaneously picking your pocket. And 110.7 million shares traded? That’s…a lot of people falling for it. Or, you know, getting out before it really craters. Which, frankly, feels more likely.
They IPO’d in 2020. 2020! As if that’s a selling point. And it’s up 1369% since then. Okay. Sure. That’s… sustainable. That’s definitely sustainable. It’s just… it feels like everyone’s pretending this isn’t a bubble. A really, really expensive bubble. Like, “designer bubble” expensive.
The whole market was a little weak, I guess. S&P 500 down 0.51%. Nasdaq down 1.51%. Snowflake down, too. Snowflake! These companies… they all have these ridiculous names. It’s like they’re actively trying to be opaque. And Prologis was up. Prologis! Warehouses. Seriously? Warehouses are doing better than, you know, actual innovation? This is what we’ve come to.
Here’s the thing. They’re saying Palantir is down “despite” two analyst upgrades. Despite! Like the analysts are supposed to be some sort of magical shield against gravity. They upgraded it to “Buy.” Buy what? More time before the inevitable? And a $1 billion contract with the UK Ministry of Defence? Great. So, they’re selling data analytics to governments. What could possibly go wrong? It’s not like that ever ends badly. And “accelerating U.S. commercial adoption”? Who’s adopting it? And why? I need specifics. I’m not just throwing money at anything with the word “AI” attached to it.
Apparently, a “critical hedge fund letter” is to blame for some of the drop. A letter! A letter! It’s like they’re still sending messages via carrier pigeon. And the valuation? “Significantly higher than most enterprise software peers.” That’s code for “completely detached from reality,” isn’t it? They expect investors to just… believe? Believe in magic? I’m a reasonable person. I need numbers. I need logic. I need to understand why I’m handing over my hard-earned money to a company that seems determined to defy all common sense. It’s just… infuriating. The whole thing. Absolutely infuriating.
