‘Full House’ Star Reveals Powerful Update on Second Cancer Diagnosis

Dave Coulier, best known for his role on “Full House,” has announced that his cancer is in remission. He recently shared the positive news on Good Morning America, explaining that he’s finished treatment for tongue cancer and is now recovering well.

I was so moved hearing about Dave Coulier’s health battles. Just last December, he shared that he was diagnosed with tongue cancer, not long after successfully fighting Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He described the last year as incredibly challenging, but also full of meaning. He put it perfectly – it’s been a real roller coaster! The amazing news is he’s now in remission from both cancers, and he says what a journey it’s been – and I can only imagine!

During a regular check-up and scan, doctors discovered tongue cancer after spotting an abnormality at the base of his tongue. He was diagnosed with P16 squamous carcinoma, a type of cancer affecting the head and neck.

Dave Coulier recently learned his cancer wasn’t related to a previous lymphoma diagnosis. He’s optimistic about his recovery, and doctors believe his chances are good. He completed 35 radiation treatments at the end of December.

After battling cancer twice, Dave Coulier has a new perspective on health. Though currently cancer-free, he says the experience continues to affect him. “I always feel like cancer is still lurking in the back of my mind,” he shared. Because of this, he feels it’s his duty to encourage others to listen to their bodies and prioritize regular medical checkups.

Joey Coulier recently shared with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America that he didn’t anticipate ever publicly discussing his cancer diagnosis. He admitted, “I really didn’t want to become a symbol for cancer,” but now hopes his experience will inspire others to prioritize preventative health. He encourages people to get regular prostate exams and mammograms, and to talk openly with their doctors about any concerns.

He was also grateful to those who supported him during his treatment. His wife, Melissa Bring, stayed with him throughout, along with close friends, including his former “Full House” co-star, John Stamos. Coulier fondly remembered Stamos flying in to cheer him up and do whatever he could to help. “He’s like a brother to me,” Coulier said, explaining that they even managed to find humor in the situation, which helped him stay positive.
