
Okay, so Netflix just dropped the first trailer for their new animated Stranger Things spin-off, ‘Tales From ’85,’ and it looks like we’re heading back to Hawkins right after the events of Season 2 – think snowy winter vibes. The trailer confirms the story is set in 1985, and it’s clear that closing the gate to the Upside Down didn’t actually solve everything. Our favorite characters are facing a brand new, lingering threat, which is pretty exciting, honestly. It seems like the mysteries of Hawkins aren’t quite finished yet!
Netflix says the latest trailer shows the danger in Hawkins isn’t finished. A message in the preview, stating “something survived”, implies the problems at Hawkins Lab weren’t completely resolved. The upcoming series is being described as a new, previously unseen part of the Stranger Things story, adding details to what we already know.
The show centers on Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and their group of friends as they attempt to get their lives back to normal. While the town seems peaceful under a blanket of snow, a terrifying new danger is stirring. According to Netflix, something frightening has awakened beneath the surface, and the kids must uncover its source and stop it before Hawkins faces another crisis.

The animated Stranger Things spin-off, Tales From ’85, is spearheaded by Eric Robles. The show’s original creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, are involved as executive producers, and Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen are producing the series. Flying Bark Productions is responsible for the animation.
Netflix has announced who will be providing the voices for the series. Brooklyn Davey Norstedt will voice Eleven, and Jolie Hoang-Rappaport will play Max. The cast also includes Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, and Benjamin Plessala as Will. Brett Gipson will voice Hopper, and Jeremy Jordan will voice Steve, with Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips also joining the voice cast.
A new animated series based on the original show will debut on Netflix on April 23rd. It revisits the town of Hawkins with the same beloved characters and familiar atmosphere that fans enjoyed before.
